Confusing Speed Limit Signs
NunheadRising replied to bluecanary's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
In my opinion 30 mile an hour is fine for some of the main routes but the more suburban roads should be 20. As you can tell I'm over the boarder in Nunhead and we've had a 20mile an hour limit down our road for a few years with no effect. We have the 343 and 424 both coming down Ivydale Road continually doing over 30 especially in the evening when they thunder down the road making the houses shake in their wake. Despite bringing it to the drivers attention all you get is a load of abuse. The bus drivers have an untouchable attitude and no member of the council seems bothered either. -

Maybe i'm not down with the East Dulwich Hipster parenting way of life but a pub is not a great environment for a kids party -
Ha Ha what a wally. Getting annoyed by lack of pavement space. You must have a very relaxed life if this is the all you have to worry about.

Ladies Who Rummage Through Our Bins

Ok to answer your question "how on earth do you know..." I personally saw two women doing this just off Nunhead Lane last year as i mentioned in the previous tread. I berated them for doing this to which they played dumb saying 'no english no english' and then buggered off at double quick pace. This has been a common reoccurring problem that many others have mentioned on this forum. It was quite clear what they were up to and not looking for clothes and shoes as others have suggested. I mentioned this to the police on the day but obviously unless they're captured in the process the onus is on individuals to make sure they don't discard personal data which could be used fraudulently. -

there was a thread on here earlier this month on the same thing. Despite drawing to others attention that they're looking for bank statements etc. the usual do good - lets not think bad of anyone bods on here started crying out that they were entitled to act like data gaining wombles as 'they're not hurting anyone' -
Some b**tard killed our cat!!!
NunheadRising replied to N.grace5's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I agree with some others on here, very sad for your children, but what would you do if you hit a cat at night 'without a collar'? Expecting the driver to pick the animal up, internet search a 24hr vet, take it there, pay the bill and then try to track down the owner is never going to happen. Maybe this link clarifies the situation: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-15457756 -
Virgin Broadband Media Outage
NunheadRising replied to NunheadRising's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
the service went down on sunday afternoon again for a few hours. They were due to send out an engineer but not heard anything since. Yet another company that make you deal with a non UK call centre after battling your way through twenty numerical options -
These women have been doing the rounds in East Dulwich Nunhead Forest Hill area for months, there have been other posts about the same thing. Coming onto my property and taking anything without permission is theft. Don't be soft in your view of the world thinking they're not up to something dodgy, if you're not bothered by it then invite them in for a rummage through your house whilst they're at it.

I witnessed two women fitting that description doing the same thing last year around nunhead lane. I reported it but obviously nothing happened. cut up your letter before you bin them

keep up the good work being the voice of those whom you represent.

and over in Nunhead yet again the VIrgin broadband has dropped off. Apparently it will be back on this evening. If you've been effected contact them on 0845 454 1111 and get the two days re-credited to your account
