I've used Darren for a gutter repair after seeing several recommendations for him on the forum. He did a quick and efficient repair to our leaking gutter and I'm pleased to report I'm another happy customer. Richard

We have recently completed our garden project with Mike after seeing him recommended on this thread. Mike bought bags of enthusiasm and creativity to our project. Mike listened to our requirements and worked with the architecture of our new build which was a key requirement for us. He pushed us (in a good way) during the design process and we've ended up with a scheme that we are really happy with. We've had lots of positive comments from family and friends. When the tenders came back over budget Mike came up with ideas to get us back to a spend that we were happy with. During the construction Mike was on site regularly to check up on the progress of the landscapers and rolled up his sleeves to do the planting and help with all the finishing touches. We'd happily recommend Mike to other members of the forum.

The Party Wall Act does not give you any rights to prevent the work (planning permission gives your neighbour a right to go ahead), but it is there to make sure the work is done without damaging your property and you should be given a Party Wall Notice before anything starts. Good advice on the thread already about deciding what you want to achieve and taking pictures of your property now. I'd speak to your neighbout directly if possible and ask why he didn't serve you a notice. I would also call a Party Wall surveyor. I'm sure they'd give you 5-10mins of advice down the phone in the hope of gaining a client.

Have you tried Fine Art Plasterwork in Streatham? I have received a quote from them for a project I am working on for door surrounds, corbels, window mouldings etc... all for the exterior of a property.

Hi, I am planning to build my own house in Brockley, with the planning decision due next week. I am looking for a project manager to help me through the project as I don't have the construction expertise, or time to be on site, to do this successfully myself. I'm aware that architects and some builders offer project management services. However, I'd like someone independent working for me to manage the project. Has anyone used a project manager on a rennovation or construction project? If you have any advice or recommendations please let me know. Thanks, Richard
