  1. I went to DMC again this morning a cued outside for the doors to open The lady on the front desk was very polite and greated everyone with a good morning and offered them all appointments, i was at the desk filling out a form and over heard the staff in the back very upset that someone was going to come down and stab the admin lady because she could not give him a appointment this is not on is this what it has come to. i will once more say this admin staff and the lady on the desk i beleive to be called Lisa work very hard and are willing to help as much as they can it is the management that is letting them down or should i say lack of doctors. If you have a problem talk to them and they will help you i know that getting appointment is hard but it's not their fault
  2. I today decided to attend the DMC and join the cue at 07:45 I was 4th in the cue. the doors opened at 8am on the dot. Whist cueing the 1st booked straight away the 2nd booked 2 appointments and was trying to find out different times different gp's the 3rd wanted blood results then me. once I booked I just moved to the side and started watching what was going on. I could hear the phones ringing and the 3 people in the back was constantly picking the phones up as quickly as possible, I was very impressed if I must say. People were still coming in booking appointments. at 08:16 the phones stopped and no more patients cueing.i waited till 8:25 a few more people came in and the phone was still ringing on and off. I felt I simple had to come on here and tell everyone. im not saying they are perfect as I have also struggled to get appointments but after asking the lady at the desk she informed me their were 4 DR on 2 pharmacist and 1 nurse and 3 admin staff with 4 more starting later is 4 Dr really enough for a big surgery with over 12,000 patients. I think what I have seen today and my past experience I don't think the issue is the staff I think its how many patients and not enough staff.
  3. I have to say I disagree with most people on here, yes it is getting worst trying to get a appointment with either a doctor or nurse not because of the reception staff its because on most days there are only 4 to 5 doctors working the reception staff try their best to try and help but can only do what they are allowed or told to. I once called and asked how many appointments were available on the day and was told they had 34 appointments to offer 23 people turned up in the morning to get appointments and that left 11 calls by 08:10 all the appointments were gone the staff had to still answer the calls and tell angry patients there were no appointments left. I have been there a few times and just seen doctors walking around with cups in their hands and refusing to help see patients, if you try and talk to people in charge you are told they are in meetings or busy. if you ask to talk to a doctor, nurse or the pharmacist on site you will see the receptionist trying their best to find someone to help yet no one is willing to. I agree its more about money then the patients. next time anyone goes there just watch what is happening and see the people that actually care and work and you will see its the poor people in the back.
