  1. Thank you for posting this. I teach and we can see the Velodrome from our classroom. The children will love watching it, and will no-doubt find it hilarious.
  2. When you don?t have an awful lot of available money and Christmas is just around the corner, then yes it is all about the money. Unfortunately (for me) it has to be and I?m not ashamed to admit it. They?ll be lots of families in ED and Peckham who will think the same. I support lots of local businesses. At the end of that day, I don?t need to justify my my choices. As I said in my previous post, the guys running Tree Amigos seem nice and I was glad to give them my business.
  3. Today, we bought our tree from Tree Amigos. Nice guys that are running it. They had a great selection of good quality trees, and the one we bought was ?15 cheaper than what we paid for a tree last year. What a shame they won't be coming back next year.
  4. We have used Vic and his army of decorators/handy men for several years. Would also highly recommend them. We happen to be looking for a window cleaner at the moment, so thanks for this. Very helpful.
  5. I ate here tonight for the first time. Food was delicious. Love that they have chips and gravy on the menu too. Will definitely be returning.
  6. This happened to us a couple of years ago on Copleston Road. We sorted some old clothes out, took two bags to the Mind shop and put a third bag of clothes - that were well past their use by date - in the bin. When we got back from the Mind shop, our bin was open and the bag of clothes had gone. It was quite unnerving because the clothes had only been in the bin for ten minutes and we thought whoever had taken them might have been watching the house and had seen us put them in.
  7. We live on Copleston Road. Last year and the year before, we regularly used to have them in our garden first thing in the morning; adults and pups. I know some people aren't fans, but I used to love watching them whilst eating my breakfast. We've not seen or heard any this year either. I know urban foxes only live a couple of years. I assume the adults we used to see have died and their pups have moved on and found their own patch.
  8. Judith Kerr Primary are currently recruiting for two teachers - a full time KS2 teacher and a part-time EYFS teacher. They've been open for five years and have just been rated 'Good' for the second time by Ofsted, with the recommendation that this could be upgraded to outstanding if they receive a full inspection within the next two years: https://www.jkps-cfbt.org/school/vacancies/
  9. I see that East Dulwich Picture House runs a 'Kids Club', choosing to show quite a few films that us adults will have seen as children. What a shame then that they make a point of saying that adults without children will not be permitted. They make no mention of unaccomapgnied children. Clearly, any adult without said child must be a potential Paedophile. As a male primary school teacher I am tired but not surprised by this attitude. I'll bring my CRB if this helps?
  10. For several weeks loud music has been coming from a flat somewhere along Grove Lane (close to the Cherry Tree Pub). It generally starts around 2 am and can continue until as late/early as 6 am. We live on one of the ajacent streets and though it's not terribly loud where we are, we are aware of it and it needs to be stopped. Also, for those living next to it it must be terrible. Is anyone else aware of it or know where it is coming from?
  11. I got a place in the ballot as well. Never run a marathon before, although I've done a couple of 10ks. I have no idea idea what I am doing, lol. I've started doing the Park Run at Peckham Rye on a Saturday morning. It starts a 9. O clock and is about 3 miles. You have to register online and print off a barcode to enter.
