  1. Ahh I see. Thanks James. Didn't read your post carefully enough plus the black bin bags over the signs are still up so wondered what was going on then read your post wrong. Best wishes.
  2. Hi that's good to know. May I ask then what is the situation to those of us that have already paid up for starting March 30th. If it is suspended will we be refunded for the month or so that we have already paid for?
  3. also, I hadn't found a possible solution until Sue posted. It's an odd problem to have isn't it. ;) Just PM'd you Sue, Thanks.
  4. Thank you for posting this JohnL. Did the leaflet give any other details?
  5. My elderly mother has often mentioned the pushchairs to me. She says they are in the way. I've not been there so don't know myself.
  6. MarkT - It's no good for growing in. I used it for few years with tomato plants and then it sat there a few more years as I had nowhere to get rid of it. Wouldn't think it is nutrient-rich soil by now. Sally Eva - Yeah you're right. All our neighbours have concrete yards too. Thanks for suggestions all :)
  7. Good suggestion IlonaM but it's not good soil.
  8. I don't have a garden as such, just a concreted over small yard. I have several large pots full of soil that I wish to throw out and know that soil is not allowed in with garden waste. Any ideas where I would get rid of the soil from these pots?
  9. I know nothing of the law regarding this, but you say "it is an offence to uproot plants for commercial purposes without seeking authorisation". Does that mean it is ok to uproot for non-commercial purposes?
  10. Dulwichdarling is coming across as a troll. Makes me cringe to see how this thread has been derailed.
  11. Perhaps the people here complaining about anyone wanting to discuss the noise (again) should draw up a list of things we are allowed to talk or not talk about with others living locally. Would that make things easier? Or perhaps if you don't want to discuss aircraft noise you should just not click on the link and let the rest of us get on with it. I've often wanted to discuss the aircraft noise on here but know it is pointless with others trying to derail the conversation just because the noise isn't a problem to them (well good for you) or they clearly have more important things to talk about.
  12. Thank you for sharing this rahrahrah. Shocking. Signed petition.
  13. I agree with you ultraburner. It was the overall tone that made me want to post a reply. The OP compared the local Tesco to the one in Haggerston and provided a link to a site, that has four pages of photos. If you look at that link you will see there is NO comparison between the two stores. It's a silly comparison to make. In my opinion (of course). clockworkorange Wrote: ------------------------------------- > http://haggerston-tescos.tumblr.com/
  14. You can't find feta cheese and stir fry at your local store and you decide to rant about it on a public forum (fair enough) and throw into the mix the issue of the poor guy that sits out front occasionally. It is always the same guy, and he is never drunk or abusive or intimidating in any way from what I have seen, and I shop there almost daily. I want to rant about that. The fact that he feels he has to beg. I bet he would love to swap you for your problems. As for the staff in there. It is one of the main reasons I shop there. Always helpful and polite. Very friendly. I have never seen them off chatting while customers need them. They have two particularly friendly women that serve at the counter. One of them was telling just after Xmas how her and her family gave up their Christmas day to help out with a charity that feeds families that are down on their luck, up at the Oval cricket grounds. With staff of that quality working there I don't suppose they mind the poor guy that sits at the door sometimes. It has been my experience that whenever a bit of a queue builds up, another member of staff will come up from the back of the store and open a second till. There has been a bit of wet mess on the floor up there a while back, but that was after the storms and clearly part of the roof was leaking over by the veg section. Hardly indicative of how they run the store on a day to day basis. The Tesco store at the end of Nigel Rd I think it a fair bit bigger and yet I can never find what I want in there unlike the Tesco in East Dulwich Rd. For its size it is pretty well stocked. I had to put my two penneth worth in. I really like the local Tesco.
