  1. I feel like I need to give an update on this as people might still be looking to use Kiltox! It took them three months to finally come over and look at the problem (the patch of dampness getting bigger and bigger). They prolonged this as much as they could and wh e they came ove, they gave all sort of excuses about why there could still be dampness on the exact wall they worked on. none of them made any sense really and they offered to do 1/5th of the wall again as a gesture of good will. Of course we went back and said they need to do the whole area as the warranty does not cover 1/5th of the work!! We've been trying to get a response in the last three to four weeks but now they are ignoring our calls and emails. Does anyone have any advice on how to take this further? Builders shouldnt be able to get away with things like this. Someone mentioned the Small Court Claim. Is that something we could go for? thanks
  2. Hello, I was wondering what experience people might have had using Kiltox (damp solutions). We are based in ED and used them a couple of years ago (recommended by our estate agent) and while they seemed to have done a good job then, we started having damp problems about a year ago on the section that they did work on. Big patches of dampness and it has started to look now similar to what it looked before they did the work. We tried to get them to look at it as the work was under a 10 year warranty, but it has been a real problem first getting them in and then getting them to give an assessment. I feel it is a very unprofessional way of treating their customers and was wondering if we were the only ones having this issue with them. Thanks all,
  3. Thank you all for all the responses. It helps to see that others are in the same position. Yes,I can definitly see the point of easing the children in and it is a good chance to meet other parents. It's just that i was saving the leave for christmas -) and now i might have to work through it .... I have not been in my current job for long so cannot take any parental leave and my partner is in the same position!! Thank you all -)
  4. My daughter is going to Reception in Goose Green this September (very happy about that) and I just learnt from the school that the first week will be part time (either mornings or afternoons). I was wondering what other working parents are doing with these arrangements - not very keen on losing a whole week of my annual leave -)) thanks
  5. Hello - my daughter has been going there in the last year and I woudn't recommend it! There were a few nice teachers there when she joined but they have all left and now I feel the whole place is quite messy and the staff morale is very low! The Nursery Manager is leaving as well i think, which is not necessary a bad thing! Everytime I?ve gone to them with a suggestion or a comment, I just get a lot of reassurances but nothing ever happens to improve things. I always feel that they are very good with saying the right things but not with delivering. I am not sure what it the kids are up to during the day and they are not great with any of the literacy and numeracy teaching they should be doing as part of EYFS. Also, my daughter has gotten hurt a few times in the last few months and in the majority of times, they haven?t even noticed/notified me! I should have moved her to another nursery but she made a few good friends there and I didn?t want to have to move her twice as she will be 5 this Sept and going to school.
