  1. Yellow rose - these lovely sounding neighbours are mine too given the address. I'd be against this kind of thing normally, I can understand what people are saying about setting a precident and changing the character of the area but in this case I'd much rather continue to have neighbours like this than have them have to move out of the area for a landlord to buy up, turn into flats with sky high rents! If this goes through I just hope the person who buys the house is as good a neighbour as they've been to you. I don't know a lot about this kind of thing but if I can show my support then I would happily, feel free to DM me. This particular build does sound very sympathetic and low impact and much like it won't be too different from the summer houses already in the area.
  2. In major pain with a recurring ailment that only an oesteopath can help with. Any oesteopaths out there who can help tonight? Supposed to be celebrating hubby's birthday tomorrow and am currently in agony....
  3. Hi, I'm looking for a one off cleaner to come and clean my flat for maybe three hours in a couple of weeks time. I have a 14 month old and finding it difficult to find time to do the more infrequent bits of cleaning - windows, blinds, doors, skirting boards, oven, microwave, kitchen cupboards etc. I'm also mid month having new windows fitted which will no doubt create lots of extra dust so am looking for someone to come after that. Any local cleaners with recommendations who would just like a bit extra for holidays etc who fancy helping me out? Lisa
  4. Hi everyone, Just posting again as we are well and truly headed towards wedding season! In the spirit of the season, I'm doing a special offer for the whole of April and May and offering a half price trial session for ?15. Happy to do later sessions for those working long hours. Thanks, Lisa
  5. We were supposed to get an update in the store from the police, but no such luck. I spoke to the police after she'd gone in the ambulance who were essentially waiting to find out how serious her condition was before they reopened the roads, which they then did shortly afterwards so we can only assume that means she's ok. The lorry didn't cut the corner, we think just a genuine accident, one not seeing the other. But it could have been a lot worse. Second accident we have witnessed in 2 months, something needs to be looked at with regards to lights or a crossing.
  6. It happened outside our shop and my colleague and I were first on the scene. The police are going to update us, but yes a very serious injury to her foot. Amazingly fast response from the emergency services! That junction reeeeally needs looking at though, we witness far too many near missed there.
  7. Ive been meaning to get to know some people too, how about a newbies pub quiz team? The great exhibtion has a good one on a tuesday!
  8. its been there a few months, never seems very busy unfortunately
  9. With great difficulty, been trying for over 18 months. Told every time it's full only to visit each week and see several empty spots....
  10. too late, but for future reference the best roast is at the great exhibition.
  11. Hilarious banter on this one! However in all seriousness he is filming in London right now and staying very nearby....
  12. Hi everyone, Just a note to say I still have availability most saturdays for the next couple of months if anyone is having a late summer/autumn wedding! Lisa
  13. cripes I missed that, i'm at the other end of the road. they have been doing work on the basement for ages and there's been a skip so maybe an accident moving that?
  14. Totally wandering around the corner in next half hr when the other half is back from work....
  15. Can only see about 4 rooftops of bawdale rd from my window, none of them seem to be the one hit. Shard's still there! I'd wander round the corner if not for the sleeping baby who didn't even stir at the noise!
  16. me too louisa, i'm on whately road but they sound close! :S
  17. definately thunder, but the loudest ive ever heard! hearing sirens now, anyone know if it's hit something?
  18. Hi, I had my son 5 months ago, and I'm keen to shift this extra stone (more like 2) but not really a big fan of the gym. I played tennis as a teenager and at uni, but that was a fair few years ago and I'm out of practice and out of shape! Any East Dulwich mothers fancy meeting up and making use of the courts in dulwich park or peckham rye while the sun is out? Thinking its free and babies can snooze in the pram.... Lisa x
  19. Hi, My name is Lisa and I've worked in the make up industry for 7 years now, so lots of experience in doing make up for special occasions, particularly weddings, however after the birth of my baby am looking to start up on my own. I use high end make up products, Benefit and Bare Minerals in particular, so if you need a make up artist for a special occasion please feel free to drop me a PM or an email at [email protected], or call 04792480879. I can also offer nails as part of a package, but please note I am not a trained technician, just done nails for friends for occassions for many years! Prices are available upon request but very reasonable and am willing to travel, but please do have a look a few shots of my work, a website will be up soon! Also for now, here's a link to some fashion show pics on Rock n Roll Bride that I did all the make for - http://www.rocknrollbride.com/2011/03/the-luellas-boudoir-wedding-fair-my-catwalk-debut-exclusive-photos-video/ Thanks
  20. James, just following on from my earlier posts, I walked down to north cross earlier today, it was busier than its been in recent weeks, but I did actually count 9 empty spots.
  21. Wow, lots of judgemental comments here aren't there! I have a bugaboo bee because its pretty much the smallest pram there is and so less likely to bother you all when I come into a cafe and won't run over your toes when I get on the bus. And if you find me lingering over a coffee on Lordship Lane annoying the hell out of you, its probably because a) The baby has just gone off to sleep and I need caffeine or b) we could both do with the fresh air. Both of these might bug you all even though my child is asleep and I'm contributing to our local businesses by buying a coffee, but I'm afraid the alternative is to go home and wake the baby by carrying the pram up the stairs, because while I'd love to just sit out in the garden with a cuppa, funnily enough finding a flat in East Dulwich on the ground floor with a garden when you're on statutory maternity is nigh on impossible! So please don't tar us all with the same brush, we're not all there to annoy you, just trying to make the day a little smoother!
  22. James, I would be willing to run a stall on both days. I sent 3 emails requesting application pack which were all ignored and when I eventually called I was told both days were full. I've noticed in recent weeks the market is getting smaller and smaller even on saturdays. I am in the process of purchasing a van, and its a new business with no commitments in other areas yet so would be willing to be there both Friday and Saturday every week, regardless of the weather!
  23. I asked about both! saturdays still seem half empty too to me....
  24. Hi James, I'm sure you've seen a couple of threads discussing North Cross Road Market and 'where has it gone?'. A lot of people seem to have noticed it not as full as it could be, myself included, which is why when I phoned southwark council for an application pack to have a stall I was rather shocked when told it was full, only to wander down there last friday and there was only one stall. I think it should be looked into who has an allocated spot and isn't using it. It's not helping a really nice market to be half empty all the time when other people want to be there. Thanks, Lisa
