Just a note to let people know we were broken into on Saturday evening (18th). Suspect they were aware of our movements as we only popped out for a bit between 2.00pm and 10.00pm but they stole our car and lots of items from inside the house - namely jewellery and watches some with mainly sentimental value. Sadly seems to be fairly common but thought we should make people aware so they / we can all try to be vigilant... and on the off chance anyone saw anything around Hindmans, Upland, Underhill Road between those hours. Thanks

This has to be a joke, no way would someone actually create an advert like this for real?! -
Hi, We are looking to have a few things done which require a bricklayer at our house in ED. Scope of works includes:- - Building a small block work wall and having it rendered as a planter - Re-pointing a panel at 1st floor level which is circa 6m high by 8m long - Cutting a few air bricks in at low level to give some ventilation - Replacing some bricks which form a soldier course to our front wall Any recommendations / assistance would be greatly appreciated as finding anyone to carry this out is proving difficult. Thanks

North Cross Road - Kerbside Intervention
rob01564 replied to graceduncanual's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi Grace, We live off one of the roads which connects onto North Cross. I think something which would allow the road to 'become' pedestrianised at weekends would be good - i know part of it is on Saturdays for the market - but this could maybe create a more social area at weekend with some nice lighting, public seating interesting planting / water feature etc.. maybe bollards on automatic timers to close off the section from the church down to the junction with Lordship Lane which could have larger pavements? This would potentially reduce congestion (or increase it depending on how it's managed), create child friendly / well lit social areas for all ages! Good luck
