Hi there, I just hired Norberts Pick Up to take a bunch of heavy plants in terracotta pots across town to Hackney. I can highly recommend Norbert. He and his partner arrived on time, were friendly and efficient, and we reached the destination - including pick up and delivery - within the hour. Very reasonable fee of ?60. I included a tip as I was so pleased with the service.

I would just like to add that I have been let down by George. I contacted him because he came highly recommended on this site. In response to my enquiry he visited me and sent me a quote for a job which is very time-sensitive as it involves damp damage to my spare room which I needed to get taken care of so that I could have friends stay over Christmas. I agreed to his quote but unfortunately he has not replied to half a dozen messages, emails and texts - even to let me know that he was no longer interested in taking on the job. With xmas round the corner I now have to put up my friends in a damp, wall damaged room. From the comments here I understand that he can do very good work. But I wanted to share my disappointing experience with the Forum, as this is where I came across his name.

Hello there, Can anyone recommend a local builder (I am in Sydenham SE26) to carry out repairs on an external wall, and redecorate the affected internal wall? Accessing the external wall will require scaffolding: it's a hall level flat, above ground level, with a basement beneath. A builder recommended on this site quoted me but has now gone silent. As I cannot use my spare room because of damp damage, and have guests coming for xmas, it has now become urgent.

Hello there, I am looking for someone to repair leaks in the external wall to the 1900 building in which I live, which has caused leaks in my spare bedroom. Hello, I'd like to add my recommendation for Brad. I called him this morning to ask if he could come and clean my turkish rug, which my cat has been using as a litter box. He was able to come within one hour! and was most personable and helpful, providing an excellent service. I will be rebooking Brad for next month to do a full fumigation of my flat, due to moths in the carpet. A class act! and at a reasonable rate.

I'd like to add my recommendation for Spoiltdog aka Andy. Andy together with Richard visited me today to hang a large antique mirror for me. They responded within a matter of hours and were here the very next morning. They did a great job, for a very reasonable price, and were pleasant and jolly to boot. I will definitely be inviting them back to carry out a few other odd jobs for me as the high quality of their work coupled with their professionalism and courtesy cannot be faulted.
