Hi EDF we're moving to Beckenham soon - we don't really know anyone in the area that well to quiz for 'local knowledge'. There seems to lots family activities in the daytime, but we're not sure what there is to do for the evenings (i.e going out for a nice meal without the kids). Does anyone know of any good restaurants / gastro pubs / pubs in the Beckenham area? We're going to be living on the 'Clock House' side of Beckenham. ... And any other local Beckenham info would be good too ! Thanks for taking the time to read this love SunnyX

Hi there I find the EDF really useful - but we are soon moving out to live in Beckenham. It's not that far away, but i need some local info (esp. about schools!). Does anyone know of an equivalent website/forum like this for Beckenham? Even any family facebook groups or anything like that? There must be something like that out there but I'm not having much luck searching through google etc. Or, does anyone live in the Beckenam area - esp. around Clock House with children at local primary schools. thanks everyone for all the welcoming comments and the advice. Any more other local info most welcome too! Esp. good to hear of a picture house opening in ED too. One other thing - there's a really big pub (closed down) on the corner where Lordship Lane meets the South Circular. I think it's called (or rather, was called) 'The Grove'. Does anyone know what is going to happen to it, are there plans to reopen it as another pub or restaurant etc.? thanks again xx

hi there we are going to be living on Wood Vale Road soon - i don't know much about the area. We have 3 young children (oldest 5 yrs) - and I'd love to know a bit of local knowledge so I know where to go and what to do with them. Where would we go for swimming lessons? Cinema trips? Other activities (children's dance classes etc.)? and for us parents - are there any good gyms close by? Are there any local pre-school playgroups to know about? any advice much appreciated !!! love Sunny xxx
