  1. What's the best way to get to Blackheath tonight via public transport? As always TFL is coming up with some odd suggestions. I'm Peckham Rye side of ED

  3. thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately in the end we couldn't be bothered to deal with the journey to see a film at half ten on a sunday morning!
  4. Does anyone know the best way to get to the Vue in Greenwich without the Jubilee? Got preview tickets for tomorrow morning and TFL seems to think it'll take an hour and a half!
  5. Hi, does anyone know if this is open this morning? Can't get through on the phone, and not sure if the strikes are affecting london today or not
  6. Does anyone know of an Andrew MacKinnon or a Candy MacKinnon in the area? We moved into our flat on Peckham Rye about 9 months ago and get loads of post for them, all quite official looking stuff that I would've thought should've been changed or updated by now. We've been returning to sender up until now but getting fed up with that as it just keeps on coming! Candy appears to be Andy's daughter. Also, anyone know an Emily R Jenkins or Mr Allan McAteer? We've had post for them too. Any clues appreciated
  7. Thank you!! Think he's on his way there now, along with the hundreds of others also wet through. What a pleasant train ride that will be!
  8. Just heard from my boyfriend in town that Victoria is flooded and therefore shut. He's struggling to get home and wondering if anyone knows whether London Bridge is open?
  9. I moved to Peckham Rye in November with my boyfriend and we love it here. We don't have a garden so it's so nice to be able to go out to the Common. Gets lots of use - adults and kids organised sport, sun bathers, dog walkers, families, picnickers etc but never feels crowded. Personally never used the cafe because either far too busy or haven't had cash on me but think it's good that it's there. Doesn't feel dodgy at all to me, though I probably wouldn't cross it at night. Peckham Rye is great for access to buses, Peckham Rye and East Dulwich stations, the useful shops of Peckham such as Boots, Smiths, Morrisons and the interesting shops, bars and restaurants of Lordship Lane.
  10. Brilliant! Thanks very much for the responses - good to know I'm not going mad because I was sure they did exist! National Rail link didn't work as had timed out, but searched it myself thanks - I always forget to try National Rail site.
  11. As this method worked so well last time, and because if I look at the Southern website one more time my head will explode, can anyone confirm whether you can get a train direct from ED station to Wimbledon station, and how often? Need route for possible job but also am going to the tennis in a couple of weeks. When I searched TFL for a route to Kingston upon Thames it said I could go from ED to Wimbledon then diff train to KuT, but when I searched ED to Wimbledon individually it didn't seem to exist, and the Southern website doesn't mention it either!
  12. No, Esprit Group, but my housemate also did agency waitressing with another company in that area so think there are a few!
  13. Thought it only proper that I update everyone on the success of my journey. 3The 37 took exactly 45 minutes from East Dulwich Road to Alma Rd, Walworth. The walk to the office on the otherside of the river probably about 20minutes. I allowed a ridiculous amount of time to get there so as always was ridiculously early and discovered the office was in a very residential area completely void of any cafes or shops! But I am extremely thankful for all your help and always love it when I can get there and back for the bargain price of 2 quid! (oh and I got the job, but it's only agency waitressing so can't get too excited!)
  14. Thanks for all of your very helpful suggestions - much better than TFL! Out of pure laziness I'm going to try the 37 as if I can just stay on one mode of transport the whole way I'm always much happier!
  15. I need to get to Sulivan Road, SW6 3DU tomorrow afternoon for a job interview and the tube strike has thrown my route into slight chaos. The nearest station is Parson's Green, apparently about 15mins walk away. I've tried the TFL website but it all looks very involved so just thought I'd see if anyone has any suggestions? I live on Peckham Rye side of ED so either station is easy for me. Any help would be much appreciated!
