  1. Hello Joe

Superb work in taking this over and thank you as such a great local resource.

How do you reset new posts? On the old forum you could click 'reset new posts' (I think that was the name of it) and it would mark all posts as read so so you would know which posts are new when you next log in.

Thank you again and good luck in your new role.

  3. Best money we've ever spent! Our daughter absolutely refused to sleep through the night or to sleep in her cot during the day - would only sleep if I was pushing her in her pram so would spend hours each day walking (I have never been so skinny as when I was on maternity leave!). Katie helped us when our daughter was 9 months old, it took two nights and daughter who is now 6 years old has slept through the night ever since.

Exactly fishbiscuits. Both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccines in the UK are under a temporary licence from MHRA as an emergency measure to get them into circulation, so not sure why vegancow focuses on the US when the UK has similar measures. From the BMJ:

Why was the vaccine given temporary authorisation?

Usually, the UK would wait for the European Medicines Agency to approve a vaccine before looking to distribute it, but in an emergency EU countries are allowed to use their own regulator to issue temporary authorisation. In October the government made changes to the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 to allow the MHRA to grant temporary authorisation of a covid-19 vaccine without needing to wait for the EMA.2

A temporary use authorisation is valid for one year only and requires the pharmaceutical companies to complete specific obligations, such as ongoing or new studies, says the law firm Brodies.3 Once comprehensive data on the product have been obtained, standard marketing authorisation can be granted. This initially lasts five years but can be renewed and is not subject to specific obligations.

  5. Hi Medusa. Congratulations and sorry to hear that your baby may need surgery. I gave birth at King's so have no personal experience of St. Thomas' (but know people who have without complaint) but I would strongly consider St. Thomas' if there is a possibility that your baby could be sick as it is located right next door to the excellent Evelina childrens' hospital so proximity for the possibility of having to move your baby is something to take into consideration. I wish you all the best.
