  1. Hello While strapping 3 kids into a car and loading lots of bags I seem to have inadvertently left a blue maxi micro scooter on the pavement last night (stupid of me I know). It is named. If anyone has seen it please please get in contact. 07903830384. I am not holding out much hope - so if anyone has one to sell (a masculine or unisex colour) then please get in touch too! Thanks so much
  2. I would like to say that Gary is by far and away the best electrician I have ever used. He worked really quickly, (so was amazing value for money) he got complicated jobs done which several other local electricians said were difficult and over-quoted for. He was lovely to deal with. Use him - you won't be disappointed!
  3. Hi I can recommend Sam as a painter - lovely person who kept coming back for no extra charge to make sure our job was perfect after we had some water damaged rooms re-decorated. 07855878944 I can also recommend Adam Konrad to look at your leaking side return. He has done lots of work for my friend who is extremely happy with him and has started doing work for us. We have found him professional, knowledgeable and lovely. 07737 077769
  4. Anyone looking at sash windows - please do NOT use "Sash King" (run by Jim Johnston of "Alexander Johnston and Sons"). He installed some sash windows for us and 2 leak badly. When we told him he was very unpleasant - said it wouldn't possibly his fault and refused to do any repairs. We have since had it confirmed the windows were incorrectly installed and we have paid someone else to fix them (a lovely guy called Adam Kondrad - 07737 077769)
  5. We have exactly the same problem. We have had new sash windows fitted in 2 bedrooms and now both windows are leaking and the the company who fitted them say they are too busy to even come and look at their work for several weeks. This company (it goes by several names, Sash King and Alexander Johnson and Sons - the guy we dealt with was called Jim Johnson 07958439282) may not even be responsible - it maybe freak weather linked to something else, but to hear they are too busy to come and check their work seems really poor after we paid them a small fortune for these windows. All the roofers are busy and it is really stressful. Meanwhile the internal damage just keeps getting worse and worse in newly decorated rooms.
  6. Hello I would like to give a massive recommendation to our decorator. His name is Sam Nicoll and he has painted several rooms for us. One room had some water damage and he treated it and then kept coming back to check on it and doing additional coats without ever asking for extra money. He is extremely honest, sticks to his quote, and is very happy and pleasant to talk to. I cannot recommend him highly enough! His number is 07855878944
  7. Hi I just spoke to Nancy and she is looking for volunteers to help sort through donations. If anyone can help please get in touch with her. In the meantime they still need donations of large items such as prams, but please do not drop off big sacks of clothes/ small items that would need to be sorted (as noone is available to do that are the moment). I am donating items today - but I am pre-sorting and labelling ecerything myself so that it can be given straight out to the relevant people. Nancy says if everyone donating can please so the same she would be very grateful. Thanks
  8. I would like to recommend Sam who has just spent a few weeks with us painting several rooms in our house. He is a lovely person (always happy and pleasant) and was really helpful and patient as I struggled to choose paint colours. He did a fantastic job and I would absolutely use him again. You can reach Sam on 07855 878944
  9. I also used Mike who was very good. Very honest and trust-worthy.
  10. Hi The water was on a couple if weeks ago when weather was less good but someone just told me it was switched off last weekend. Has anyone been there this week? Is there water in the fountains now? I want to take my daughter - but it is a fair way away if there is no water... Please advise.... Thanks
  11. Hello I am interested in a French tutor for my 5 year old. He knows many French words (all his colours, numbers, animals, food, clothes etc) but I would like him to improve his conversational French and just take advantage of his young mind and ability to absorb other languages and accents. Therefore I am looking for a native speaker who would be confident in developing a curriculum for him to stretch his learning and not just repeat the same stuff he already knows. Please get in touch if you you can help. Thanks Tara
  12. Hi I am wondering if anyone knows someone local to do a 45 minute entertainment set of something (magic, balloon modeling, puppets whatever) for my childrens party on 28th July. My kids at 4 and 2 years old. I have found the rates for childrens entertainers really high since most of them have to travel and therefore have a set minimum fee which is too high for me. Please get in touch if you have any suggestions or are yourself a local kids entertainer. Thanks Tara
  13. Hi If anyone has any ideas - (or also has a 4 year old and fancies a playmate) I am looking for classes and activities for my 4 year old boy on a Tuesday and Thursday morning. I also have a little girl who is almost 2. She is very easy going and follows her brother around mostly. He is very sweet and friendly and will play with girls and boys. He is in nursery or classes other mornings and has activities and playdates booked for most afternoons so it is just the mornings I am trying to fill. Most of his friends are at nursery or pre- school now on those mornings so we are a bit stuck. We already do swimming and soft play, so I am looking for something else. Any ideas welcome and if you are in the same boat as me please get in touch. Thanks
  14. hey is this an open event? was wondering if i could join on thursday
  15. I have a 3.5 year old little boy and I am looking for classes/ activities to take him to on weekday mornings (Monday and Thursday). I will potentially also have my 1 year old with me. Lots of kids of my son's age are in a pre-school next year in the mornings and he is bored at classes that cater to 2 year olds. Does anyone know of anywhere/ anything that I can take him to that is aimed at 3/4 year olds? He will be 4 at Xmas and I am looking for something that will run from September for a year (minus school holidays or whatever) so for the large part of the year he will be 4 years old. If there is nothing around is there anyone in the same boat as me? (I.e has a child that is almost school age and not at full time nursery or pre-school)? Would anyone like to set up a regular playdate on a Monday or Thursday - we could meet at the Horniman or somewhere like that? I just don't want him to miss out on playtime with kids of an appropriate age and none of his friends will be around on those days.
  16. TODAY!!!! Arrive at 2pm for magic show.... All kids who come in any kind of fancy dress get a prize. Film showing at 3pm. See you there
  17. Unfortunately the weather won't be sunny on Wednesday (and it will be cold) so not a great day for the park - however a brilliant day for an indoor party and film screening! So come along....
  18. Just confirmed - JoJo the travelling minstrel will be appearing to entertain the children from 2pm to 2.30pm so make sure you arrive on time! JoJo's website: http://www.jojofun.co.uk/index.html See you there
  19. Hi - this is up to parents. I would say suitable for children from 2 1/2 or 3 years old and upwards who are able to sit and watch a film without getting bored. But this is intended to be an event for a whole family to enjoy, so siblings of different ages who would enjoy a film like The Jungle Book are welcome.
