  1. Does anyone know of any parents/mums groups in Peckham or Camberwell? I'm thinking there must be a network on Facebook similar to the Streatham Mums network? Preferably of the equal parenting, dads-welcome and multicultural variety, but open to any suggestions for networking with other parents in the area! Thanks for suggestions!
  2. Hey all, Last week during the heavy rain our basement flooded. The reason for this is that the council recently raised the pavement by more than two inches on Southampton Way. This caused our airbricks to be a the level of the pavement instead of above it, meaning that any surface water that collects now flows directly into our basement. Can anyone help suggest how we might go about getting the council to remedy this situation, a situation we wouldnt be in if it wasnt for the work they did on teh pavement. Thanks!
  3. I thought that Veganism by definition was avoiding anything produced by animals, including honey and wool that don't require the animal to die to be produced. I guess it depends how extreme you are.
  4. Does anyone have a good recipe for a lovely moist carrot cake or banana loaf? Have a new Kenwood mixer so it's time for some baking to happen!
  5. I'm so sorry to hear this sad story. This reminded me of a similar story I heard on the incredible The Moth Podcast, here is a link to the story - told in front of a live audience. http://themoth.org/posts/stories/the-drip For those who don't know about it - "The Moth is an acclaimed not-for-profit organization dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. It is a celebration of both the raconteur, who breathes fire into true tales of ordinary life, and the storytelling novice, who has lived through something extraordinary and yearns to share it. At the center of each performance is, of course, the story ? and The Moth?s directors work with each storyteller to find, shape and present it."
  6. I hope they do both! The Old Kent road could really do with the regeneration - although places like Stockwell don't seemed to have been made any prettier despite having a tube station!
