St John's and St Clement's Primary School Street

Just to add that fines are being implemented in the summer holidays as well, contrary to the information provided by the council earlier. Maybe it is possible to challenge them? -
Hello, We are a busy family of four based near a Peckham Rye station, looking for a proactive and trustworthy cleaner/housekeeper to come two or three times and week, to help us keep our house clean, tidy and organised. The main tasks would be: - General cleaning of 3 bed house with 2.5 bathrooms - Load, run, empty dishwasher and put things away - Put on laundry and tumble dry clothes - Fold and put away laundry - Change bedsheets once per week (one double bed and if possible two kids bunk beds) - Keep fridge clean and tidy, check and throw away anything out of date - Go to local shops (Bellenden Road or Rye Lane) to restock some food and cleaning items (we will take care of regular weekly shop but will ask you to pick up small items needed during the course of the week), and sometimes drop off dry cleaning or charity shop donations - Clean oven when needed - Advise on other jobs that are needed around the house This would take 7-8 hours per week, at £13.50/hour, and could be split over 2 or 3 days. We would like to have one person rather than an agency so that the person knows knows where everything goes in our house, and you would need to speak enough English to communicate with us about the housework (in person and by texts/WhatsApp). You’ll be making a big difference to our lives! Please send me a message here if you are interested or if you have any recommendations. Thank you!

The link doesn?t work - is it sold out? -
Surely what matters is how much your nanny is actually being paid - not how much each of you is contributing?

Hello, We lost my daughter's beloved Princess Aurora doll at the Peckham Rye fete. It is a 20' tall, soft/plush, Disney-branded princess doll with bright yellow hair, a gold tiara and a pink sparkly dress. The doll was in my open bag when we sat watching the dog show; we then walked around the fete, and I was carrying a baby and a huge (also princess-themed!) helium balloon as well as the bag, and lost it somewhere along the way. If your child (or even dog) picked the doll up, please do bear in mind that this is a toy that's very dear to another child, and it would be kind to give it back. I was sorry to hear in another posting about the child's scooter that was nicked from the park the same day. It seems particularly mean-spirited when things belong to a child. Jane

Is it true? cafe trio to close forever this Sunday
JaneKinnin replied to MirandaS's topic in The Lounge
Re the classes, the Friday music class with Cat from Little Folk Music is usually sold out every week. She's looking for a new venue in the area. I don't know about the others. Another idea might be to have some sort of membership model, if a number of people who really want to support the business to be financially viable paid a monthly or annual membership? Possibly with a discount on classes and cafe, but mainly intended to be essentially buying into the project and helping ensure it stays open...Personally I have found it really valuable as a toddler play space that also allows parents to catch up with each other. There are similar toddler cafes opening up elsewhere - several mentioned in this Telegraph feature from last year, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/11544958/Child-friendly-cafes-at-last-Decent-coffee-and-safe-soft-play.html -

A few businesses have been successfully crowdfunded in Peckham and Camberwell, and if a rent shortfall is the problem, I wonder if there might be a crowd funding solution? But it's strange there's nothing on their website, Twitter or Facebook pages if they're closing so soon. Was it a sudden decision? -

I'm really surprised as every time I go there (2 or 3 times a week), it's mobbed. My daughter loves it and we will be really sad to lose it. What has happened? Are they thinking of relocating and is there anything that could be done to keep it open?
