Don't forget South end of Underhill Road. Good sized houses with good sized gardens and short walk to Dulwich park, Dulwich Woods, Horniman and Peckham Rye. Transport access in five different directions which is super useful and the little P13 gets you to Lordship Lane shops in no time. Easy parking.
IMO a little part of Dulwich underappreciated by some living right near East Dulwich shops but much liked by those that find their way to this quiet corner of Dulwich.
Good luck to you

The person doing this walk around Belvoir road and Dawson's heights for the Dulwich Festival might know unless this research is for part of this walk 🤔

How about asking the Monumental Mason on Wood Vale as that looks like a commonly used font for a gravestone. You could get a quote for a gravestone as well. He did one for me a while back which was preferable to buying one online.

If you don't find anyone consider this charity to donate medical books

Apologies. 10x4hrs is full time for Hospital Consultants. For GPs it's 37.5 hrs for full time according to the BMA and anything less is part time.
-
As far as I understand ten 4 hour sessions would be full time so if you work anything less than 40 hours a week as a GP you will be considered as part time. A 35 hr week that is full time for most people would be part time for a GP.

Hi there!
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced but good / reliable painter and decorator in the area?
Many thanks
Meg
Try Jeff at Streatham Decorators. He does work in East Dulwich and has done a lot of good work for me.

I'm really happy to recommend Jeff from Streatham Decorators. He has done several jobs for me now. His work is very good and he is punctual, reliable, clean and tidy and reasonably priced.

O2 coverage is good in ED although drops off in Sydenham woods and Dulwich Village.

Thanks for that comprehensive reply. It is reassuring and appreciated that you, as administrator, are keeping such a close eye on reviews. I will continue to try to disregard reviews from new accounts with one posting just to be on the safe side.

Curious to know if anyone else struggles to sort the genuine reviews from the self posted. I have had a few tradesmen off the forum who have glowing reviews eg excellent work, great value etc who I have found mediocre and very expensive. I prefer to only review if the work is good and, for poor or mediocre work, I tend to say nothing as I don't want to blight someone's livelihood from my one mediocre or worse experience. But I now notice, across different tradesmen, how many reviews come from newly registered names on the forum with only one post saying how a particular tradesman was absolutely fantastic. Sadly I've started to think these are probably made up.
It's such a shame because it makes the review section lose it's value.

He did a great job on my windows too.

Oh the wonders of the internet....you can curtain twitch without ever leaving the comfort of your sofa. I wonder which unsuspecting house seller will be next in line for the ED critique.

100% squeaky floors from what i can see the floorboards are really old
Croocked walls (as the picture of greem bathroom shows the walls are not exactly straight and there is signs of cracks allover)
Do you speak about the houses of your own clients this way? 🤔

Surprising if that tree doesn't have a Tree Preservation Order protecting it. Have you asked the Southwark tree officer?

Yes Wash and Dry in LL was my go to place for bedding and was good value and came back clean so I'm sorry to see them gone.
I think Love 2 laundry was around 48 hrs from delivery to drop off.
-
I tried a service wash in Brockley and it was not good at all so then tried an online one following Jules-and-Boo's suggestion (thankyou). I tried Love2Laundry. It was more expensive than a local service wash but the duvets came back clean. So I will use again. They collect and drop off.

Do get your MP and relevant councillors involved.
The only winners from more high street gambling outlets are the owning companies and those receiving the rent. People that use these gambling shops are often those who don't have money to lose.
The presence of so many gambling shops in a High St is a sign of a struggling high street and that is an issue for the local council and the MP.
It should be much harder to gamble than it is now. Gambling advertising on TV and phones is particularly pernicious and I wish the laws on this had never been liberalised. Gambling is a really harmful addiction that, unlike drug and alcohol addiction, can go unseen until addicts have lost everything. Opening another gambling outlet is a big mistake.
I'm sure you'll find alot of people in Sydenham that would help you oppose this. Just keep spreading the message. Good luck.
Lewisham gives has guidance on making a representation against licence applications for alcohol entertainment licenses on its website but much of the information is transferable.

Thanks for the advice.

Crikey, a bit over the top this, you’re overthinking it.
Seemed quite clever to me...just casually ask name and date of birth....and before you know it there's a dodgy company set up at your address. But glad, so far, others think it's legit.
-
Amazon delivery driver asked me for my name and date of birth when he delivered a package. He said it was required as there was over 18 content in the package which actually contained a few magnets and a water filtration kit so not sure what was over 18 content!
Just wondering if that was an attempt at identity theft, ie name, address and date of birth. I gave a false dob but we'll see if any dodgy invoices turn up.
Has anyone else experienced this?

One (part of) Dulwich
in Roads & Transport

You probably don't need to understand it better!!
But basically you used to be able to drive up and down Court lane and Calton Avenue across the Dulwich village junction with gay abandon and now you can't because that part of junction is now blocked by multicoloured woodwork and planters. So Dulwich village is split in half for vehicles and you have to drive a long round to get from one side to other. Some people (the majority who responded to Southwark's seemingly flawed consultation) hate this, especially those living on roads to which the through traffic has been displaced and those who have to drive alot further to get from one side of DV to the other and some people like it. The debate will go on forever without a happy ending for some of the people. That's it really 🤔
