  1. Do you want to learn more about current research into Alzheimer?s disease? Alzheimer?s disease, an age-related neurodegenerative disorder, is the leading cause of dementia. Researchers at King?s College London study many aspects of Alzheimer?s and dementia. These include the biological and genetic causes of disease, new treatments and improvements to care. The Open Day aims to increase public awareness of this devastating disease, and to explain current research goals to interested members of the public. Attendees will have an introduction, several talks by researchers and the opportunity to interact with scientists as they run a selection of activities. The day concludes with a question and answer session with a panel of experts. With fun hands-on activities, this free workshop is aimed at primary school children accompanied by parents/carers. Places are limited, booking is essential.   5. Dear ED forum, Engaging Mental health is a project funded by the Maudsley Charity. We want to: - engage the local and wider South London community with the research carried out at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King?s College London and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). - increase the knowledge and interest of children and the general public for science and mental health. - offer people of different ages and backgrounds opportunities to talk to scientists and mental health service staff to learn about neuroscience and mental health.
