  1. I have an excellent landlord (how often do you hear that?!), and it would not be wise to ruin our relationship over bike parking. The argument is one of safety and exiting the building in an emergency in the dark, and to be frank, they have a point. first mate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Perhaps the Council can under emergency powers > find a way to intervene with Landlords if they are > not being reasonable in meeting the needs of cycle > owning tenants. 2. Recent reports of thefts from these cycle hangars do give cause for concern and somewhat dampen the enthusiasm. However, a rather intransigent landlord means the alternative is to simply chain the bike somewhere on the street. Sim1 and Commuter12, I have PM'd you.
  3. Thanks everyone for the advice. We are up to 4 people and 6 bikes . Commuter 12, I PM'd you.
  4. Hi Fellow cyclists. I live on Lordship Lane near Dulwich library. I am looking for 4 people who want a place to securely park their bikes and will join me in making an application to the council for a bike shed. Please either reply to this post or pm me
  5. Hi Can someone please recommend a carpet cleaner. The person needs to be completely reliable and honest, for reasons I cannot go into here. Thank you all
  6. Thank you all for your replies. Special thanks to those who PM'd me with helpful suggestions.
  7. I hope the collective wisdom of the good people of EDF can help me with this problem. I recently lent some money to a man I believed to be a friend. He has since avoided contact and refused to pay me back.I knew he had had some problems in the past but believed this was behind him. I then went on to look him up and make contact through people on the web. It turns out he is a serial fraudster. In 2008 he defrauded a bunch of people through an estate agent business. He was sought by the police and fled to Spain. While there he again set up a business and defrauded people. In addition, he preys on women. He borrows money, sometimes as an investment in a business, and then disappears. We calculated that he has knowingly defrauded people somewhere in the region of 250k, and that there are yet other unknown victims. He has since returned to London and is being sought by the Spanish police. I have been to the police. I either get fobbed off at the front desk saying it is a civil matter as it was a personal loan, or given a website where I can lodge a report of fraud without a guarantee that anything can be done about it. I have contacted the officer who dealt with his case, He was extremely nice but said that due to the time elapsed the case had been closed. He said it would be difficult to prove fraud in cases of a personal loan and that the police would not devote resources to this. The police also say that they cannot act against crimes committed in Spain without a request from the Spanish police. I do not expect to get my money back but believe there must be someway to stop this and prevent future victims. I would appreciate it if anyone has been in a similar situation and has any experience to share. Thanks in advance.
  8. No, it's probably not, but you can call and check. http://www.slmusic.co.uk/ Repeat to yourself 100 times, google is my friend.

Are you employed by DE by any chance? I think we should know who pays this piper! I signed. My child goes to the school.
  10. Hi Does DMC have a patient participation group? Please see the following from the RCGP http://www.gowerplacepractice.nhs.uk/help/rcgp_iyp_full_booklet_web_version.pdf Would it be helpful to set up and facilitate a patient group? This will give people something to do other than simply moan. By getting the views of patients when designing your services, you can improve perceived quality. You can also use a patient group to help define what can reasonably be demanded of your services. Do let's use this thread to get constructive about how your users can help you deliver a better service.
  11. Why not look up the Woodcraft Folk? From what I have heard, they pretty much do all the scout-type things without the religion. Also no unsavoury historical association with colonialism or fascism.
