  1. I can recommend Ariadna Sole who runs Bump, Birth and Beyond. She's a midwife who also runs antenatal classes including refreshers and always makes an effort to put you with people who live nearby. She's absolutely lovely too Check out www.ariadnasole.com/ Good luck, hope this helps
  2. Thanks both of you, we whittled our choice down to these two companies - sounds like either would be a good bet
  3. The old loft conversion debate... Any views on either of these companies gratefully received. Thanks Louie
  4. That's good to hear, Daisylets. We're about to make our decision and it's really come down to Classic or Outlook. We like the personal touch, the fact they both just do lofts and the time both firms spent talking through what we could have done. Does anyone have a view on Classic or Outlook? Thanks, Louie
  5. Hello, I've just found a white iPhone in Court Lane and have brought it home as didn't want the next person to pick it up to nick it. If you've lost yours today (Tuesday, found about 5pm), PM and tell me what network it is and what picture's on the screensaver. Then I can give it back! Thanks, Louie
  6. I weaned my son on the DAY he turned four months purely because he was enormous (99th percentile) and was demanding milk every hour, I couldn't even defrost the frozen expressed stuff fast enough! HV wasn't too supportive but said to trust my judgement. It wasn't about sleep - he was sleeping through already by then - and he loved solids right from the start. We've never had any problems with any allergies and he eats everything. Hope that helps
  7. Hello, Just to let you know a new NCT playgroup has started on Monday mornings 9.30 - 11.30. It's in the Forest Hill Methodist Church in Normanton Street and is a great big space with a huge hall for the bigger children and a lovely room for mums with little babies and / or bumps. It costs ?2 per child and includes a snack, singing and cups of tea for parents. There will hopefully be an activity every week too - this week the children made chocolate truffles! Feel free to come along and try it out.
  8. Does anyone send their children to St Bartholomew's pre-school in Sydenham? I've just put my son down for next year but wondered if anyone can give the low-down. Is it a nice place? Are the kids happy? Thanks! Louie
  9. I saw Erin O'Connor at playgroup and Kate Thornton at a toddler class. That count?
  10. I've solved the problem by joining JAGS sports club instead. It's actually CHEAPER than ED Fusion amazingly. You can't use it during school hours but it's ten times nicer.
  11. Honaloochie B - I will take your advice and report back!
  12. I nearly pissed myself laughing reading this thread. Although I do have slightly dodgy pelvic floor muscles...
  13. Yes we did, thank you. The Bishop was a veritable hotbed of talent. Still, we had to do all the running though. British men really don't seem to make the first move anymore! True or false?!
  14. Oh no! Didn't get this message in time. Will look out for the next forum do. Had a great night in the Bishop in the end. Thanks!
  15. Where's Adventure? Never heard of it! Thanks for reply.
  16. Hello, Any idea where good looking single men from East Dulwich go on a Friday night or do they all stay out in town? Going out with my (gorgeous yet single) sister tonight but the last time we went out in ED we were sorely disappointed by the talent - especially in the Palmerston. Any ideas gratefully received!
  17. Trish makes a good point when she says the people who run these classes have to pay franchise fees. I looked in to starting up a music class and the average fee for buying one of these franchises was about ?5000. This does include a lot but it means that a new class leader could work 10 hours a week for a year and make no money at all!
  18. All good points - I could become a member but because of my young baby, I don't always know when I'm going to make it to the gym. Once a week is probably what I would manage which would work out more expensive. I guess I'll just start running instead! Marmora man - that ?87 is just from one hour in one studio. At the same time they have a gym, a pool, a creche and other studios all going and all generating income. I'm not denying they have a lot of overheads - but I still think ?7.25 is a rip off!
  19. Is it just me or is Fusion East Dulwich ridilously expensive for a council gym? I'm not a member but I just went to do an exercise class and it cost me ?7.25. There were 12 people in the class which means they made ?87 in one hour. Is it any wonder lots of people are overweight if that's how much it costs? There, rant over...
