  1. Alf just helped me remove an old concreted patio and pathway from my garden. He was exceptionally hard working and went over and above the task at hand (we ended up tipping him for his service). Polite and prompt to communicate. Would use again. I found him on the forum after detailing a spec of what I needed doing - I'm sure he could help with other labouring/removal tasks too. Should you wish to contact him his mobile is 07908 516097.
  2. The job entails - removing the existing concrete, which has been broken up,from the site (some rubble may be retained to build up the level) - utilize existing sand and sub soil to fill in the level down the side path - likely requirement for additional earth & top soil to be brought to site - flatten the area and import new turf - leave an approximate 50cm transition from the existing decking to the beginning of the turf area to be filled with pebble. - Turf edge to be sunken reclaimed London stock bricks, which are on site - laid across the full width of the garden. There is: - rear gate to the garden - outdoor socket - outdoor tap Optional quote - straighten/reinstall existing fence panels along left boundary - will need new fence posts - will need new concrete post feet or similar Job start ASAP. Garden size in question approx 5m wide by 9m. However as per the photos the main filling is the path which is about 1m wide. In Honor Oak Park
  3. We recently used Paul to install secondary (acoustic) glazing to the front of our house inside our sash's. He was responsive to emails, polite and considerate. He and his team worked quickly and even came back to sort out some oddities with the install (which was more to do with our wonky house). Would (and likely will in time) use again. Acoustic glass helps reduce sound a little but isn't the holy grail. Use in combination with differing air gaps and differing thicknesses of glass depending on the sound you wish to block out. That being said relative to the overall cost of windows the incremental amount you pay for the upgrade to acoustic is likely worth it for the longer term (do you want that niggling doubt in the back of your mind?)
  4. Hi, Considering squaring off a pre existing loft conversion. Anyone know any builders to recommend? House is terraced so the dormer would be full width- I guess 5m or so. Anyone any idea of rough cost? Might try and fit in a small ensuite too.
