  1. I don't know if you'd call it refined but I recently attended a laser tag hen day. It was fantastic!
  2. http://www.nature-play.co.uk/south-east-london-uk.html Haven't been for over a year myself but I believe they're still going and have an up to date Facebook page too.
  3. I've found there are very few budget holidays available in the UK compared to going abroad. We usually book our own holidays but have had two cheap last minute package holidays in recent years, both with Thomas Cook for under ?500, to Italy and Lanzarote, which were absolutely fine. The main rip-off is excursions and transfers from the airport. They recently wanted ?80 return for a coach transfer. We paid ?15 each way in a cab! I can recommend this place if you like camping, it does 50% off the pitch rental if you're backpacking (which you are if don't come by car) and the site is ten minutes walk from the railway station. We went last July, it was clean, fun and the kids loved the wild horses! There's two decent enough pubs nearby and the one by the station has a climbing frame. http://www.campingintheforest.co.uk/england/new-forest/ashurst-campsite We manage our camping kit by pushing the tent in a buggy and hanging the sleeping bags etc off the handles. It's a bit unwieldy but we manage, one of us dealing with the equipment and the other with the kid. It does help massively if you only have one child to deal with, or several above the age of 6 who can carry stuff!
  4. I believe I was "shocked" into labour by a really, really good and unexpected surprise. No signs, not even a Braxton Hicks, then I hear the news and four hours later contractions started. If you can't arrange to win the lottery, then try and stay happy (easier said than done, I know!) and do lovely things for yourself to get the oxytocin flowing.
  5. There are notices posted all along Honor Oak Road from someone in Ewelme Road asking for the return of their stolen laptop with all their uni work on and their grandmother's jewellery. :-( Had the drawers etc even been looked through or was it just visible stuff that was taken? Definitely going to be more careful about security from now on...
  6. I'm just a bit further up from you, nearer the peak. My partner has just told me he also saw a purple car before Christmas parked roughly opposite the entrance to Manor Way (off Canonbie Road) with four young men (two black, two white) in it. He remembers it because they were there for a long time, close to 20minutes, and the two in the front were talking very animatedly. He says he kept looking out as he thought a fight might break out. Hopefully they will be caught, seeing as they aren't exactly inconspicuous! Sorry once again.
  7. I'm sorry to hear that, can I ask what end of the road you live on? I live there too and have seen a lot more people just sitting in cars of late, including one matching the description you give of the thief. Obviously there's a lot of men with silver cars out there but the number of people hanging about really seems to have risen over the last few weeks and it's made me twitchy. We've also had some stuff stolen from our building communal areas (and it's been fine for years up to now so I doubt it's the neighbours!) PM me if you prefer. There are also quite a few reports of crime on the SE23 forum recently.
