My wife and I got married in the area last year - we booked Bel Air as we thought it was a great location and fantastic house/building. However, 3 weeks before our wedding they let us know that they had accepted another (late) wedding booking for the same day and they were going to put the new wedding in a marquee in the front lawn. We eventually cancelled our booking with them and were so angry and upset. We had so many sleepless nights and my wife was distraught. We had already had sent out invites and had everything set - they were absolutely terrible at communicating with us to find a solution. We were offered no compensation or anything - the place is a shambles. DO NOT BOOK THERE. All they cared about was maximising their revenue - had no compassion for us and the situation. However, we managed to book (late) the Brewbird Cafe in Camberwell and they were fantastic - they have a lovely courtyard and it was far better than we could have imagined. http://www.brewbirdcoffee.co.uk/ We got married at the Camberwell Registry office and had the reception at Brewbird Cafe - highly recommended.

Went to Dirty Baps on Peckham Square over the weekend - if you don't like paying ?16 for a burger (who does) then seriously check this place out. We need a handy man / plumber to come in and do some work on our bathroom as soon as possible. We need retiling of the floor and shower/bath area as well as changing out a basin and refitting a new shower. Should be quite straight forward but we need it done as soon as possible. My girlfriend and I bought our first property earlier this year and wanted to get straight on to changing the main living area by completely replacing the kitchen and moving it to a different area of the open plan living room. We had very tight deadline schedule needs and not the deepest of pockets. After researching the area it dawned on me to try on here and after finding a recommendation we got Robert and Aqua Build it to quote. He came over as soon as he could and provided a very extensive and reasonable quote. We had another couple of people come over to quote but non of the others seemed to understand the needs of the job as Robert did nor did they come close to the quote price of Robert and Aqua Build. So it we took Robert up on his quote and have not been left disappointed. He was very helpful specking out the job for us and also very understanding when things didn?t go to plan and more work was needed. The job although not the biggest involved a lot of work due to re-directing the gas and water works. In the end our kitchen looks amazing and the whole flat just seems like a completely different place. Robert was very helpful throughout and always kept us up to date with developments and costing?s to make sure we didn?t overspend. I would most definitely recommend Robert and Aqua Build for any home improvements in the area. We are hoping to get the team back in later in the year for our bathroom. This forum is a great way to get reviews from people around the area and we wouldn?t have found Robert without it so I think it only right to pass our experience on.
