  1. Hi there, we are visiting friends in Australia later this month. Our children will be 2 and a half and 10 months. It will be our first longhaul flight with the two of them. I would appreciate any tips for entertaining them from people who have travelled longhaul with their children. Thanks in advance!
  2. If no luck getting one from the forum, I bought one of these in the discount/household shop on Lordship Lane (sorry can't remember what it is called). OK, its not particularly glamorous but it was a last minute purchase (for less than a fiver) and has lasted at least a half a dozen flights to date. Good luck!
  3. Fair point Sean of Dulwich. Obviously if the job takes longer, we are happy to pay appropriately for this.
  4. I just wanted to post a recommendation for Dr. Christine Langhoff, a clinical psychologist based in Dulwich. I developed postnatal depression after the birth of my son last year and Christine was an invaluable support in helping me to get my life back on track. Her compassion, non-judgemental attitude and genuine kindness helped me through what was an unexpectedly difficult time in my life. I was referred to the local perinatal mental health team but felt I needed help and support sooner than this could be offered to me on the NHS. I am so grateful that I was able to see Christine privately in addition to the support I ended up getting on the NHS and it was worth every penny. She has specialist expertise in perinatal mental health and as a mother of two herself, I felt that she understood the various challenges in my life at the time. I was able to take my baby along to all of my appointments which was also really helpful. In summary, although I had never anticipated needing to see a psychologist for postnatal depression, I cannot recommend Christine highly enough and am so grateful for her help and support. Please PM me if you have any questions! Her contact details are on her website http://www.dulwichpsychologist.co.uk Thanks, Helen
  5. Hi there, we are looking for a handyman for this Saturday morning to help with an imminent move. 6. The sling library in Penge offer a class every few weeks on how to carry toddlers on your back - its called the South London sling libary
  7. We have a 21 month age gap between our two children. Our toddler has just turned two and thankfully they are adjusting to life as an older sibling. We are over some of the the hurdles of having a newborn and the initial feeding problems have mostly been ironed out. I had anticipated how hard things would be when the baby was born but I am not sure that I appreciated how hard it is looking after two little people on a daily basis- dealing with toddler tantrums on very little sleep due to overnight baby feeds and my constant hypervigilent state when I am out alone with the two of them. Thankfully they are both happy and healthy and there are good times but when does it get easier?? Does it get easier!? Words of wisdom from those who have been there would be appreciated! x
