My daughter has started at Oakfield prep in Dulwich (they take children the September after they turn 2) and she is very happy and so am I. I have seen a lot of nurseries and pre schools in the area (she's even started a couple and I had to take her out) and this was by far the best for me. It is a very subjective decision of course. The staff are great and so are the parents. If you're looking for a more structured environment for your child not just childcare then you should take a look.

Can anyone help with recommendations for a large space to hire for my daughter's third birthday party in the Honor oak/ Dulwich / nunhead area? The Albrighton centre and Ackroyd community centre are fully booked on the date we are looking for - mid November. I took my daughter along for a settling in session this morning which didn't go too well as I think she was tired so I will try again on Monday! The staff seem good and the Creche seems clean so all positive so far. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond.

The water is very cold but that didn't put my daughter off who loved it - she's 2.5. Not sure I'd take her back though as it was freezing...it's a shame as it's the closest and nicest leisure centre to me.

We are considering sending our daughter to one of the above schools when she turns three. Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences to share of these schools in the nursery intake? Also, if there are any other recommendations for independent pre-schools as opposed to nurseries in the area it would be great to hear them. Thanks!
