  1. Hi forum A team of 20 dads and 1 mum from Harris Primary ED are riding from our playground to Brighton Pier this Saturday 22nd September. The idea is parents getting active to get our kids active - they've been training for weeks, setting a great example of working towards a goal. The money raised will be for sports / fitness equipment and initiatives for all the children currently at the school, and future pupils too. If you are perhaps planning to send your kids to our school, we thought maybe you'd like to support our valiant riders as they sweat it out up Ditchling Beacon, aka The Green Monster. Every ? is very much appreciated! Click here to read more and sponsor the team: https://www.friendsofhped.com/pedal-to-the-pebbles And see attached for 6x Olympic gold medalist Sir Chris Hoy holding up our team jersey at his book signing at Dulwich College yesterday! Thanks loads in advance! The Friends of Harris Primary ED on behalf of our Pedal to the Pebbles team

NB Think this was originally a thread about 2016 Christmas fairs, so for the avoidance of doubt the Harris Primary East Dulwich Mrs Santa's Grotto is happening on *SATURDAY 9th December 2017* from 1.30pm - 4pm, and not Sunday as per further up the thread. ALL are most welcome, but especially those considering the school for reception 18 :-) Flyer attached - see you at the Prosecco bar! 12. The Friends of Harris Primary ED would like to congratulate all the staff and pupils on their glowing Ofsted report, published today, in which they are rated outstanding in all five areas. We know that an Ofsted report is only one perspective on a school, but it is nevertheless wonderful to see the passion, talent, dedication and ambition of the teachers and leadership team reflected and publicly recognised. Just some of our fave bits include: "The pursuit of excellence is clearly at the heart of the work of each member of the school community." "Teachers are rightly proud of their work in providing pupils with an outstanding quality of education." "The curriculum is enhanced with a wide range of activities such as chess, illustration and cooking, which inspire and motivate pupils. These opportunities enhance the already rich, broad curriculum" "Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is promoted exceptionally well." "Behavior is impeccable. Pupils are polite and courteous. They love coming to school and are ready to learn each day." Click here to read the full report: http://upload.reactcdn.co.uk/harris_primary_eastdulwich/uploads/document/Harris-Primary-Academy-East-Dulwich-10031667-Final-Report.pdf Congrats again! 14. I hope admin doesn't mind us posting here, but we wanted to specifically invite families who might be considering Harris Primary ED for their reception application to come down to the school tomorrow where we will be having our first ever Christmas Grotto - it's a great way to get a feel for the school and how our little community is growing. Hope to see some of you there - full details below and attached. x Come and see the big man himself, (have a nosey at our brand new school hall), and loads besides! Entry is free, and a chance to disclose your greatest hopes to Santa is only ?3 per child (?2 extra for siblings): Father Christmas has a prezzie for every little guest, you'll be able to download a professional photo which captures your little ones' festive moment, and there?s plenty more to keep everyone happy: Our Grotto will also feature craft & toy stalls, linocut Christmas-cards from a local artist, festive face-painting and glitter tattoos, mini manicures courtesy of The Clinic SE23 (formerly Neroli), and a delicious mince pie & cake stall. We'll also be drawing our Christmas raffle, with some absolutely amazeballs goodies to be won (including a hand-blended, one-of-a-kind bottle of whisky, an iPad mini, tickets to the opera and about 20 other brilliant prizes) NB Our new school is still tiny, so the odds are (probably) the best in all of SE22! Plus, praise be, we?re offering a professional (Bond-Street-trained, no less!) Christmas wrapping service: Hand over your most hated Xmas job - we?ll get it done perfectly for a nominal sum . . . You?re welcome! Saturday 10th December, 11am - 1pm, @ Harris Primary Academy, 173 Lordship Lane The Friends of Harris Primary ED are looking forward to seeing you there! **************** www.friendsofHPED.com www.facebook.com/HPAeastdulwich ****************
