  1. Hello anyone here who have any spare album that I can buy? Please PM me thanks
  2. I can't help not to post this. And I hope this man is a member of EDF and be able to read this and realize his indecency and shamelessness. What a very rude man to stop and relieve himself on the corner of our wall. I was just parked at the time with my 2 little daughters who actually saw him stop and pee ( he probably drank a whole liter of IRN BRU by the looks of it !). He seems to be enjoying it while his headphones were buzzing away! I called his attention to what he has done and he just continued doing his business in front of my children. Instead of apologising for peeing next to the entrance of my home - he spat and said I should chill ! I lost it ! What a pig ! I had to pick up my children to tip toe to get across the pool of his piss ! I hope that one day - when you do this again , yes YOU ! I remember you very well - I am ready with a video and I will make sure to give it to the police ! Then maybe you can tell them to chill.
  3. FYI to all Southwarkers ( if you don't already know) Free swimming for 16s and under will end on 30 September 2016. Lewisham Council has taken this decision because due to significant budget pressures, they can no longer afford to continue to provide this service. Lewisham Council want as many young people to swim as regularly as possible and encourage them to continue with competitively priced swimming sessions across the five Council-run pools in the borough. Also, by joining a swimming club or swim school programme, young people may be able to take advantage of reduced prices and other offers. Ask at reception for more details on options available to young people to enjoy swimming in Lewisham. Free swimming for looked after children and 60s and over is not affected.
  4. With pleasure Libby. I have already recommended him to family and friends and wverybody came back with a positive feedback and most importantly - a" PASS " !
  5. My driving instructor is very good and well recommended. Also very professional and doesn't count/ charge for extra minutes that he spend with his lessons. He is registered with LANES and his name is Noel. You can contact him directly at 07534211255. Goodluck!
  6. On the way to our surgery , we found police, ambulances even firetruck attending a car crash scene in front of the bus top nextto the church . 5 cars damaged in total , 1 left in the middle of the road with it's left front wheel gone and 4 cars smashed to each other on the side road. It wasn't clear to us how it happened but we heard the car in the middle had children in them. They weren't hurt thanks God. The driver of the other car apparently ran himself inside the surgery which is infront of the crash and complaining of chest pain. It is alarming how this kind of crash happens in a 20/mph area. I see a lot of drivers overspeeding in Lordship lane even in the inside streets . They drive like hell is after them !

    Foreign Money

I paid my small shopping in cash in Cooperative in Lordship lane yesterday and the sales assistant gave me back a 20 pence and said it was Jersey coin. I was a bit surprised and asked isn't Jersey in England ? She said they don't give out Jersey money so they don't accept them. First time I encountered such a thing , I wasn't familiar with the monetary rules so I just shrugged my shoulder and pulled out another coin.
  9. WM, I just recently got my citizenship and it is pretty straight forward if you read the procedure via www.gov.uk. If you need to have some clarification or compare notes Im okay to chat and give you a good insight of what they need to provide and how to go with it. Just PM me. x
  10. Lynne, thank you for seeing my point. We do live across the park and have a small garden also and it is convenient to cross the road and have them have a bigger space to play and run around. Rosetta, we go to the playground to spend time to play too but after a tiring time for toddlers of 2 yrs and a small baby - it is not so easy to wheel them down to go to Peckham rye park when there is a park right across where we live. And God forbid with London weather it rains suddenly - I can easily be home in 2 mins. Aerie, I am aware that this park is by the road - fumes , pets and flies --But...my point is dog owners should pick up after their dogs. But thanks so much for your comments --- I just hope that posts like this maybe read by dog owners that do not pick up after their dogs and see that they inconvenience the community who they share the park with.
  11. So disgusted today - we were to have a picnic in the park with my 2 yr old and 11 month old and her 2 friends only to end up packing and throwing our mat, my daughter's shoes and the food as everything got covered by dog poo! My pram's wheels had them too! And so as her friend's shoes as they were running around together. They ran around and sat to eat but their poo covered shoes went to our mat and the food was laying on it. I decided to just throw everything as I wasn't sure if it had touched our food. I love dogs but if owners do not have the decency or responsibility to pick up after their dogs they should not take them out in public areas. Maybe dog walking should be limited to certain areas of the park and not be allowed to poo in the grass where people sit? I don't know what else to say - I am not against animal rights but I so do hate dog poo around me and my babies! What a shame that it ruined a very nice sunny day for us and whoever else got victimised by this foul infested grass.
  12. Thank you Sonners. This was helpful. I just needed to get an idea.
  13. Would anybody in EDF kindly tell me how much are the fees in Gumboots here in East Dulwich. It is not stated in their website and said that if interested call the nursery manager. I called the reception and she won't tell me how much - apparently she works there and she doesn't know. Why is it such a secret? Even Dulwich College that is prestigious is straight forward with the fees. She told me I should come in and discuss it. But why can't I just find out online or by phone? Do I have to be coerced in coming in just to have a chance to compare with other nurseries? I read it is outstanding and has a year and a half waiting list but this not so straight forward fee information drives to be a turn off !
  14. Hmmmp! What Chinese? Are you sure they are not Vietnamese or Japanese? or Koreans ? Are they holding chopsticks ?
  15. Thanks for the information redjam. I will check this out and will update this thread of the progress. Self closing gate would definitely make a good solution as we cannot trust everyone to think and do like us. Especially if one hand is pushing the pram and the other is holding coffee !
  16. Dulwich Born&Bred, I do too ! But how many times ??? Yesterday, my 2 year old and her 2 yr old friend were kicking ball by the ball area next to the 2nd gate and this mum pushing a pram comes in and just walked in without closing the gate. I gave her the look but I still ran to close the gate as our little ones are the first ones to likely run out that moment. After few minutes, she dashed out again without closing the gate behind her. I was calling to her but she was not listening or hearing me so I closed it again. This time I was already furious. 5 minutes here she comes again - and guess what ? she left it open again - that's it I told myself ' I'm telling this idiot what I think ! I still did it in a polite way tho- she looked surprised or probably secretly pissed that I called her on it in front of her friend. They both have babies and toddlers with them too. I hope after that - there is one less careless person that enters that playground.
  17. It's common sense to close the gate shut at playgrounds or parks especially if the sign clearly says so. Most days, me and my friends take our children to Goose Green playground. And so many times I have to tell the person who left the gate open or run myself to close the gate. It's like they didn't come in with their children. Sadly, quite a lot of mums leave the gates open themselves. I sometimes wonder if some toddler runs out and have an accident - is this the call these people are waiting for to learn that gates are meant to be shut to keep children safe? Let's be vigilant for our children's sake.
  18. You can also have his lungs checked for abscess.
  19. This all depends if the nanny is live-in or live-out; does she have 30 days holiday a year ; do you pay her some priveleges? Or is it a few hours a day nanny?
  20. Hello. I am forwarding my application toboth schools and I would love to follow this thread and get your comments.
  21. I always look out who's ever going to come near that van and open the door - but no luck until now SE22cat. It may not be illegal for someone to sleep in their vehicle But not everyday ! It should move from time to time in a different location. This van is literally flat and undriven for more than 6months now. You are right Solar- it is difficult to know if it's taxed or not because tax discs aren't displayed any longer.
  22. This white van has been parked on top of Spurling Road for months. It takes parking space from others and worse, it's an eyesore -flat and abandoned. Somebody has put graffiti on it. It covers that beautiful art paint on the corner building.
