  1. Has anyone found a small green ceramic duck, handmade with word 'Hannah' written on bottom plus JB233? It was in a brown paper bag with the name Jenni on that...either would have been found in Aneto or in Goose Green playground. Grateful if anyone's found it if you could message me - a present for a newborn... Thanks Jenni
  2. If anyone can make it, Hampstead Mums have organised a march to show solidarity and keep up pressure on Government to at least visit the family and Nazanin in Evin Prison, Iran, where she is being held. Nazanin is a dual-citizen who lives in West Hampstead with her husband Richard and 2 year old daughter, Gabriella, who is also not being allowed to leave Iran, and so is effectively stranded away from both parents. http://www.hamhigh.co.uk/news/hampstead_parents_will_march_on_downing_street_for_nazanin_ratcliffe_held_in_iran_1_4796403 Or if you can't make the march, but feel you could sign the petition and help get it to a million signatures that would be amazing. https://www.change.org/p/free-nazanin-ratcliffe Family is desperate to get her home. Thanks for any support you can give. Jenni
  3. Just bought it! Well done, what a fantastic way to make use of your experience. Jenni
  4. Hi, yes of course, I'm a qualitative researcher by background but on maternity leave at the moment. I've been mulling over whether there's anything in the idea of a piece (leading to a feature article or similar) detailing the experiences of people who are breastfeeding beyond what friends and family told me was 'normal'. There's so much stuff out there about the early days and weeks but not much I can find in the way of experiences that would have helped my husband, say, and my mum understand the breastfeeding relationship after the child begins to eat solids. I found Baby-led Breastfeeding the most helpful book, and not trying to replicate proper books like that but I wouldn't/haven't felt able to give them a whole book like that - the words 'Baby-led' would have put them off from the start. It's the experiences as well as the facts of breastfeeding that I'm interested in. I'd like to do some initial talking to people to see if there's anything in it... Give us a shout if you're still interested and I haven't put everyone off with unformed ideas! Thanks J
  5. Hi there I'm looking for couples to interview about their experiences of breastfeeding beyond 6 months, more or less exclusively at first, and then alongside solids. I'd really like to speak to both halves of the couple - the one breastfeeding and the partner. Please get in touch if you'd have 20-30 mins spare to have an initial telephone interview and we can take it from there! Thanks! Jenni
  6. This forum is brilliant for that and I feel very lucky to live here and benefit from this community which is so warm, and very wise! Thanks for posting. I'm really glad you felt able to ask for help and that things have turned a corner. Wishing you more and more sleep! Jenni x
  7. Wow, this is so great, thanks all, I started the week a bit nervous about my decision but now feel totally able to do it! Thanks!
  8. Thanks everyone, this is great - am definitely going to try the tagine, the veggie chilli and the lentil and beetroot combo this week!
  9. oh that's so kind - where are you based? Maybe I could wander over and pick them up at some point? Jenni
  10. Thanks Monniemae, I appreciate that. Sometimes I go round and round in circles online! This is great, thanks.
  11. P.S. am still giving baby meat meals at the moment as can't find good enough replacements quick enough!
  12. Hi all, have just decided to go veggie for variety of reasons, but struggling to overhaul my recipe collection fast enough to prepare meals for me and 9 month old baby (who is a good eater). Any tried and trusted protein rich recipes you could throw my way (have tried the library!) Yours every so gratefully! Jenni x
  13. So good to see other people thinking and caring about this. I know there are lot of problems in the world but this feels so close and on doorstep as it were. There is a woman called Gracie - hellosailor - on this forum who has been collecting donations for a charity, and there is another, Kate Coggins who is organising collection in South London - Brixton. She's on facebook but getting loads of emails a day so may be a delay in response...https://www.facebook.com/events/404640226402154/
  14. Thanks EDAus...where are you based, and when do you think you might be able to do a collection? If we can make it work I can drop off some stuff, otherwise, for those who'd also like to give money, looked at the gogetfunding.com site, this guy seems to be doing some great stuff and has a lot more in the way of updates and camp knowledge: http://gogetfunding.com/delivering-aid-to-calais-migrants-in-need/
