  1. Hello all, we've just had our kitchen entirely refurbished, from top to bottom (including some hefty structural work) by Handy Heroes Construction, and they've done a sterling job. They get a lot of business from forums such as this one, so it's important to leave useful feedback for people who are thinking of getting some builders in: we can recommend them without a hesitation. The whole process was straightforward and the team - from the first visit by owner / manager Rich through to the foreman Guy and the rest of the team was exceptionally competent, friendly and considerate. Many thanks to the both of them, and also to Matt the electrician and Pete the plumber. The job we were quoted for was delivered to our complete satisfaction, and we paid exactly the price quoted for. Some extras were agreed and quoted for as the job progressed, very transparently. When on site, the team, led by the immensely capable Guy, was extremely hard working and they did their utmost to minimise disruption whilst at the same time exhibiting ruthless attention to detail. Even though we chose an Ikea kitchen (which by now I've realised makes life quite difficult for builders and installers due to the lack of space for utilities at the back of the units), the team worked out very clever solutions to accommodate some thorny issues for both plumbing and electrical installations. Structural improvement work was carried out very professionally and thoroughly. Installation, carpentry / cabinet making and finish were all spotless. All the other trades were available at very short notice, and we always had the feeling that our job was getting the attention it deserved. As I said above, I would recommend using them for home improvement projects - the Handy Heroes team gave us complete peace of mind. I would not hesitate calling back on them for future work! Please feel free to PM me for details if you're thinking of contracting them.
  2. This is a belated bump, but an apposite one. Claire, Dermot and Chris have just completed the re-landscaping of our garden (removing old bushes & trees, new fences, two decking areas, general tidying up, (discretely) concreting in a large parasol stand, laying down new turf) to great effect. The place looks fantastic. They're all a pleasure to work with - Dermot and Chris are incredibly hard working in the garden, and Claire organises everything very efficiently. Dermot is an excellent carpenter and came up with great solutions to various little niggles (a round edge to decking with matching fascia? no problem); my impression is that they definitely went "beyond the brief" to deliver a fantastic result, within the quoted price. They left the garden looking like the proverbial million dollars, and were extremely conscientious. We are hoping to be able to call them again for further decking work, without hesitation. Thank you the Green Team.
  3. In any case, sushi can't be fresh by defintion as UK (and EU generally) regulations require the fish to have been frozen for at least 24h before serving raw.
  4. Hello Claire. Your number doesn't have a voicemail. Could you please call me back on 07966 824 238? Thanks in advance. Mael
