However lovely the applicant, however long she has lived at that address and however convenient it may be for that individual to down-size without moving far, building a house at the end of the garden so close to other properties and at the expense of a green corridor is objectionable. I am sorry that Yellow Rose was upset by one unpleasant post (from which I dissociate myself). But what is proposed will endure long after the needs of any one individual and, sympathetic as I am, I remain totally opposed to it.

Can I urge people to go to planbuild.southwark.gov.uk - search for 15/AP/1654 - and post an objection in the 'Make a public comment' section? So far there are 9. I suspect 4 of them were 'planted'. You have to register but it only takes a minute. MarkT's post above is really useful. The plans really affect the properties whose (smaller) gardens back on to the proposed development site. But, if the application is granted, it may have a knock-on effect for the whole area.

I've just had two bathrooms completely gutted and refurbished by a two man team I cannot recommend highly enough. They solved my water pressure problem in the top shower room (a previous plumber had tried and failed), helped me with design (they have great taste - if in doubt, leave it to them!), came with me to pick tiles (I was nervous about my choice), fitted and decorated both bathrooms and installed new lighting to the highest standard and at a very reasonable price. I left them alone in the house while I went to work. I learned that I could trust them without reservation. I have had work done before but never been so pleased as I am with this team.
