builders/kitchen fitters - please see photo. the job probably needs ducting to be fitted either up chimney into a new external hole outside, we need to work with you to find the right type of extractor for a space that used to part of the old chimney/fireplace as essentially the cooker is in what was many many years ago the fireplace. ineffective extractor fan already in place. please only pm me if you have experience of this type of work thanks

Hi Subject says it all really. I've had my usual excellent handyman say that it needs someone who has experience of ducting and flue capacity work take a look. If you are a kitchen fitter with experience and references of such work please let me know! Thanks! Stephen

Need a new extractor fan to be sourced and fitted flush into a chimney stack above our cooker, needs someone who knows about flues etc as needs to be ducted up the actual chimney of our house. The one we have right now is terrible. Anyone with experience please PM me! Thanks.

Anyone recommend a builder/carpenter/handyman with experience of building a new secure sideway gate between two houses? Both sides (us and the neighbour) want it done for better security etc etc. Hopefully getting it done together will make for a far better job. I'd echo that - we left Derek with the keys to our house whilst we were away for half-term with the kids and we arrived back to a kitchen/diner that looked as though a brand new floor had been laid! Fantastic finish, extremely helpful and polite... and there really was no dust anywhere! Derek's team even managed to remove the dark scratches and fill in the gaps as the boards had moved over the years. Could not more highly recommend! Happy to take a PM and chat from anyone.

Thanks all. We typically do the drive/valet thing but since the family grew this autumn plus we are taking another adult our estate car cannot cope for an airport run. Buying a new car might be the next piece of advice I'll be seeking!!

Any recommendations for minicabs people can share for a airport drop off / pick up? We need 3 adults, 1 baby, 1 toddler to fit, so a large MPV is likely needed and some confidence that the child seats will be installed and up to standard. fyi we live on calton ave and there has been much discussion in recent weeks with the engineers and council regarding the poor results from the townley road/calton ave changes to the traffic situation/behaviour. As already posted there are plans to update the Court Lane/Village lights junction too following the large public consultation last year, however we are asking for some more careful thought before more taxpayer money is wasted on "traffic technology" that in fact does not really have any effect on flow or speed/safety. During school hours coaches make a complete mess of the traffic at those lights... now thats another topic that only a width restriction on the road will solve... I won't hold my breath.

We are on Calton Ave too and have moved from Voda to O2 but both are just as bad. Orange reception is no better either. It is all to do with the Village not wanting any additional masts erected so the area is effectively serviced by the masts outside of the immediate area - hence patchy service...
