Hi Syd, I've just signed with Landmark to do my loft conversion, I liked what they did with my neighbour's loft & their experience was on the whole pretty good. Of course I can't say how good or bad they've been for me yet - work's not due to start for a few months yet but I'll let you know how things go either way.

The loft company we're going with for our conversion mentioned that we need to notify our neighbours before any work starts via a party wall surveyor - they've suggested a co. called Vincent Brown... I haven't contacted them yet but their site was pretty helpful http://www.vincent-brown.co.uk/

Update - We've decided to go with Landmark for our conversion after all. They're not the cheapest but I'm of a mind to pay a little extra to get what we want. Will keep you updated on how it turns out - fingers crossed (not looking forward to the dust!)

I used a fantastic book to start my meditation practice "Mindful Compassion" by Paul Gilbert - really helped me much more than any therapy sessions could. But it does take determination, patience and time. I thoroughly recommend it as a good starting point.

Hi, we're expecting our first baby and some of my friends have told me that I should have applied for a nursery place already. Am I too late or will I still be able to get a good place somewhere? Starting to panic a bit...

Does anyone know of a reliable mechanic or garage? One that's not going to rip me off just because I don't know so much about cars and I'm not a bloke...

My neighbour recently had their loft converted by Landmark Lofts, I had a look around as I'm thinking of getting mine done too. It looked pretty good and they seemed very happy with the end result. I'm still going to look at a couple of other companies for comparison but based on my neighbour's experience & the end result I'm swinging towards Landmark.
