Hi, the EDF community was very helpful with my previous request for a summer holiday recommendation. Thank you (Lagos, Portugal). Wondering if you all have any recs for an October Half Term break - we have one week and would love some sunshine with relatively short travel times - is this possible? family of four with 2 teenagers, 13&15. thank you!

Recommendations for coastal summer holiday outside of UK
stellakis replied to stellakis's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you! -
Hi all, We’re searching for a holiday destination - somewhere that we can be based for the duration without needing to rely on a car. Wondering if anyone has any recs please? We have 12&14 year old boys, would love a coastal resort - cliff jumping nearby, beach activities, shops and restaurants/bars within walking distance. We’ve been to Javea (Costa Blanca) and loved it, so looking for something similar. Would be grateful for any suggestions… thanks!

How much screen time (tablet/phone/Mac/Tv) does your 13 year old have per day? 3. Do you have any general ?rules? around the house? Thanks in advance!

Travelling to and from Kingsdale (Peckham Rye)
stellakis replied to akc74's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi, my son gets the coach in from Nunhead - occasionally when he doesn?t want to wait for the coach to leave he?ll just walk home - through Dulwich Park, down Barry Road and through Peckham Rye.. pleasant enough and good exercise :) -
Hi, My son has just shown an interest in boxing - wondered if there were any suitable classes locally that he might be able to try? Thanks!

Hi, I'm sure this has been requested before but can anyone please recommend any local car boot sales please? I have a lot of items that i'd love to clear, varying from kids clothes/shoes to toys/books and household items. Thanks! Jodi

Thanks all, really appreciate your comments and links. I?m definitely not giving in, the desire he has to permanently be attached to technology is already too much so hoping to take a step back in general. Wish me luck.

New Avengers movie.. suitable for 7&9 year old?
stellakis replied to stellakis's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you everyone for your feedback. Just to say I ended up letting my 9 year old go as lots of his best friends (& dads were going on Saturday). My judgement suggested it might not be suitable, but I knew he wanted to see it... however I was proved right - he found it too scary and left the cinema. Now at least he?ll understand why movies have a rating and might be deterred in future. Lesson learned all round, but if you?re unsure as a parent, trust your instinct :) -
