  1. Hi there, I’m looking for handymen, painter/decorators, labourers and a registered gas engineer for work this week in Sydenham. Please get in touch if you have any immediate availability.
  2. Jacqueline Lythe is the woman you need! https://www.instagram.com/jacqueline_lythe_styling/?hl=en
  3. The builder I was hoping to work with on a flat refurb project is no longer available and I'm looking for someone else to jump in. There are some remedial damp works required, a lot of stripping out and general refurbishment including installation of new kitchen and bathroom, but no structural work at this stage. Please let me know if you're interested in discussing further and can start imminently. Thanks!
  4. Can?t agree with the above posts more. Pavel was so helpful and really easy to work with. They arrived on time, all the guys were friendly and polite and the job was done super quick. I have to move again at the end of summer and I?ll definitely be using them again. Price was really reasonable too. Thanks Pavel and co!
  5. Hi everyone, I?m looking at buying a flat where the freeholder is Southwark Council. The flat needs extensive refurbishment works in order to make it habitable including installation of a new central heating system, full electrical rewire, replacement of rotten flooring, new kitchen and bathroom. I?d also like to alter the layout which would involve some structural work and replace a window with French doors. I understand that I would need permission from the Council to do the work (not just planning permission, because it?s a leasehold flat there are extra restrictions compared to a private freeholder) and am wondering if there?s anyone out there who has been through this process and can give me some insight as to how responsive the Council were and whether the process to obtain permission was particularly onerous. If I buy the flat, I?d need to start works as soon as possible so we could move in when completed. I?ve read some horror stories! The flat isn?t on an estate, it?s in a converted Victorian house. Please feel free to message me direct if you?d prefer to remain anonymous. Thanks so much!
  6. I wholeheartedly agree with this recommendation and would also add that Roz is very perceptive, which is incredibly helpful if you struggle to find the words to say what you really mean! She is great at challenging your existing attitudes and behaviours and gently guides you to find new ways to resolve your issues. She provides a safe space to check in with yourself in a non-judgmental manner. I feel very fortunate to have found her.
  7. Speak to David, he's a really lovely guy, always quick to help and doesn't charge a fortune. http://www.mchow.co.uk
  8. Hi all, It was McHow Property Maintenance who came to the rescue. We didn't replace the kitchen, there were two in the house and one wasn't needed. Dave and his colleague were really responsive, did the job in rapid time and price was really competitive. I left a review for them on another page, I highly recommend them!
  9. Dave from McHow contacted me after I posted on this forum looking for some help to remove a kitchen in a hurry. He and his colleague Ricky came on a Sunday(!), were courteous and friendly, did what we needed them to do in a really short time and the price was very reasonable. I also asked Dave for some advice on how to upgrade the boiler and heating system. He was super helpful and I will definitely be using him to do the job when the time comes. I highly recommend McHow Property Maintenance. Don't waste your time looking for someone else, just book him in now. Amanda
  10. Thank you to everyone who responded to the above, loads of great leads and I think I'm sorted now. Love this forum!
  11. Hi all, This is my first post, I've seen that there are loads of builder recommendations on various threads, but we have an urgent job which is to remove a kitchen from the first floor of a house. Gas and water would need to be disconnected, then a small number of cabinets and wall units to be removed. Do you know of anyone available who could do this in the next few days please? Thanks in advance!
