  1. Adding another recommendation for Elliot. He has just finished remodelling our understairs area - blocked off one access, opened up another, fitted shelving and new doors - the finish and his attention to detail is brilliant. He is very clean and tidy, polite, trustworthy and I cannot recommend him highly enough. We would not hesitate to ask him back for future carpentry jobs. Elaine
  2. Keely Watson, who runs a stall outside Denmark Hill station, will be accepting orders for fruit and veg for delivery from Monday. As well as a large selection of fruit and veg, she has eggs. You can email her on [email protected] and make payment by Paypal.
  3. Yet another recommendation for Gerry. Turned up quickly as arranged and fitted a new kitchen sink and tap, no hassle, polite, no mess and very reasonably priced, cannot recommend highly enough!
  4. i would like to recommend Norwood Roofing. We had a problem with water getting in through a 1st floor sash window immediately under a loft extension French window. E-mailed David from Norwood Roofing and he came later the same day. Explained the problem to him and also asked him to have a look at the rest of the roof. He identified the problem with the leak and explained what needed doing and also found a few other areas of the roof (parapet pointing, flashing and guttering) that, from the photos he took, clearly needed attention. Confident he did not suggest anything that did not need addressing: he said that most of the roof is fine. They arrived 07.30 on an agreed day so I could leave for work and hand over the keys (and I was happy to do that). By end of day all work done and photos as proof. Seems to be a good job: impressed and would recommend.
  5. I also would like to recommend the spin doctor. Our AEG washing machine packed-in and got the Spin Doctors details from EDF. He arrived, identified the problem very quickly and even helped move a tumble dryer so he could access the machine. Fixed within an hour; reasonable fee. Highly recommended.
  6. We have just had our front door replaced by Crown Joinery and are extremely happy with the service and product. The whole process was hassle-free from measuring to completion, and we were kept up-to-date throughout, including photos of the door as it was being made. Alex and his crew replaced the door and all surrounds: new architrave, jambs & fittings and we now have a double-glazed fanlight with house number etched on it. The finished product is excellent: a Victorian style heavy purpose-made hardwood door on four hinges and two very sturdy locks (double cylinder deadbolt & spring-bolt; one key); the lock staples are bolted in to the masonry. The joinery throughout is superb and the paint finish flawless for the door (undercoated and several further coats), jambs, architrave and sill (latter painted the same colour as the door). We have a ?hood? over the letterbox on the inside for additional security. They even took the trouble to remove an old interior telephone junction box, paint it, move it and hide the wires behind the architrave. The fitting took a day. It?s not often you get something better than you were hoping for and we would recommend Crown Joinery unreservedly. They are clearly enthusiastic about doors and have the joinery and carpentry skills to produce and install a great product.
  7. we would also like to highly recommend Doug. He just built 3 double wardrobes for us - beautiful finish and built exactly to specification. He is tidy and considerate, friendly, reliable and completely trustworthy.
