Bredinghurst school no longer exists. It has become Newlands school and occupies a new building on part of what was the Bredinghurst site. The proposed Ivydale school building will be on another part of the site.

I live on Scutari Road and am delighted that at long last some traffic calming measures have been put in. In 2002 a speeding car turned upside down outside our house and wrote-off one car and a motor bike and damaged a second car. Cars do seem to be driving more slowly now.

The humming is coming from the work being done on the ring-main extension at Honor Oak underground reservoir. See http://www.thameswater.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/corp/hs.xsl/2919.htm But no info on what's causing the noise at the moment.

Based on my experience I would say 'don't worry. My son, who is now 6, and has never been over- or under-weight went through a phase when he was 2-3 years old when he loved eating lumps of better and would even raid the fridge to get at the butter. Now he often asks to have no butter at all on his sandwiches !

The traffic lights have led to a significant rise in the number of vehicles using Scutari Road and then turning down Therapia, Mundania or Marmora roads on their way to Forest Hill Road. There is no traffic calming at the lower end of Scutari Road and drivers frequently drive along this road at well over 30-miles an hour, never mind staying withing the 20-mile speed limit.
