  1. They're supporting a youth charity/organisation that produces a magazine that they sell on the streets. I'm not 100% sure as I couldn't remember the name, but from quick bit of research it could be "Inside Success" who've had some bad press in the past for their tactics and handling of donations and have similar blue "uniform" and branding?
  2. Ikea Applaryd two seater sofa in light grey - seats two (lounging) or three (sitting upright) Measurements and more photos here on the ikea website https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/aepplaryd-2-seat-sofa-lejde-light-grey-60506233/ It's a very nice looking sofa, and is only 6-12 months old but does have some visible wear and tear in the centre, where the fabric is piling. Has to go quickly as we've rearranged our living room and purchased a different style of sofa, and now it's taking up a lot of needed space so asking for £50 only (£699 originally). Currently in one piece, minus the legs which had to be removed to get it through the doorway. Can be disassembled if needed - the instructions are on the ikea website but can print for you if needed. Note: we do have a small short haired dog but he does not slobber, and barely sheds any hair. The sofa was vacuumed before moving out of the room and he will not be allowed back onto or around it. --- Glass topped wooden coffee table. Pretty stylish but old and well used so some scratches on the surface and dirt/dust. 36cm high 44cm deep 87cm wide £10 --- Both to be collected from Solway Road, SE22 9BG, as soon as possible
  3. Have had a few DMs, so please assume it's taken unless updated here.
  4. Quite old but good condition large stainless steel pan. Copper bottom and 6L capacity. 25cm wide, 16cm deep (excluding base and lid). Good for soups, stocks, stews, curries, jam etc but doesn't work on our induction hob. Collect from Solway Road, SE22 9BG.
  5. In Camberwell they have Saturday regular appointments as far as I know, but would expect they are maybe hard to come by! Saying that, we've had emergencies on other days where we had to just drop in at short notice and we've always been seen and treated well. From their website, looks like after hours is £219+. That sounds more than I recall but could have increased recently. If you look at reviews however, there are some people telling a totally different story as always!
  6. We go with our dog to medivet Camberwell. They've been great for us. We've had plenty of regular appointments and a few emergency appointments both within the normal hours but also out of hours and not had a bad experience once. For the 24 hour service it is a rota of vets who are often coming in from other practices. Otherwise we often get seen by see the same small group of vets and nurses and they all seem qualified, professional and friendly. I can't say that prices sound very different to what people have reported from TNV and I think it's subjective, but we often come away surprised that it didn't cost more, so obviously wouldn't feel like they're ripping us off.
  7. We checked it out yesterday. Our main courses were insanely good! 20% off all throughout Feb. It's the hidden spot where Slow Richies was.
  8. Yes I believe if the tin is half full they will take it to be reused, else they are happy for empty or dried out tins to be added to the big household waste container. To dry you just need to leave the lid off - it will take some time!
  9. We have recently completed our kitchen refit with John/Top Marx. We contacted them at the start of the year on the strength of the recommendations here, knowing that our project wouldn't start until later in the year, but wasn't a problem. Gabi responds to every communication warmly and promptly, and quickly arranged a site visit from John to help us with our planning. As it was our first ever kitchen project it was really daunting, but John was happy to chat to us and answer questions and left us feeling so reassured. We got a very reasonable quote quickly and secured Top Marx for our dates within just a couple of weeks. If we would have had to wait for availability we would have, but we seemed to have got in early. Our old kitchen was ripped out on a weekend so trades could make a start on the Monday. We were pleased to still be able to use our own electrician, gas engineer etc. A delay with a plasterer wasn't an issue despite pushing things back by a week. Once fitting started John dealt amazingly with working in our tiny space, and all the issues related to our drastically wonky floors and walls. He built us an amazing boiler cupboard, to our own design/spec, despite it being more work than expected. John reiterated many times that giving us the kitchen we wanted was his top priority, and was generally a pleasure to have around to chat to. During the job John spoke about going to do bits and bobs on previous projects, and helping investigate issues in kitchens he had fitted (that we're not his fault). John will also be coming back to us soon to swap the dishwasher door (manufacturing fault). I have no doubt that if any other issues arise the after service will be exceptional 👌 Pictures attached (ikea frames, plykea doors, silestone worktop).
  10. Aaron was able to fit us at short notice to plaster our kitchen when another plasterer let us down. As others said the finish is pretty exceptional, price was very reasonable and very nice guy. We won't hesitate to have him back for future jobs.
  11. Haven't had to deal with underpinning but do have part freehold of a converted house. Am sure by now you are aware there is a huge premium for multi-dwelling buildings. - in my experience, up to 10 times the cost of insuring a regular house. It's ridiculous. I was told that insurers assume it is a letting and therefore increase prices to account for extra risk of owners not being there to spot issues before they are serious, unreliable tenants etc. Doesn't seem to matter if both owners actually live there. We are currently insured through https://www.towergateinsurance.co.uk who provide different kinds of "specialist" insurance so you may find them helpful. They were very easy to deal with to setup the policy, however I can't comment on how good they are when it comes to claims - like every insurer there are some bad reviews out there.
  12. Someone lost their dog in the park today (eventually found) and I heard that there's a local WhatsApp dog owners group that people use to ask for help when this kind of thing happens. This evening I also witnessed a man sprinting towards the park and across the busy crossroads in chase of a dog that had got loose. As a dog owner living few mins away from the park I'm keen to join the group in case the worst happens (to ask for help or offer help). Does anyone have the invite that they can share? I tried searching but wasn't able to find.
  13. The old SE Cakery site on Upland Road is set to become an independent bakery, with a focus on UK sourced ingredients and sustainable farming practices. They're aiming to open in March. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/help-open-erics-bakery-east-dulwich https://www.instagram.com/p/CmKaKnhIaSN/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
