  1. Hiya gang, Can't make it tomorrow as I've got a friend in town from Wales and she's bringing her baby, otherwise I would have brought her along. Hope you're all well and are having a fab pride weekend! Cheers, Nikster

    Pink drinks

Hiya gang, Last month a few of us met up at the Rye hotel for pink drinks as there were some new members to the forum who wanted to find local gay friendly drinking venues. Tomorrow night is the next date for pink drinks but I can't make it so I wanted to see if anyone else who went last time is planning to go. MikeSE22, Badger, Giddy gecko? Cheers, Nikster x
  3. Hello people, Me and my girlfriend Clare will be at the pub for 7pm and we've roped in some friends to also come. There'll be a place set aside for rainbow drinks. See you later, Nikster x

    gay girlies

OOoh! I finished work early today and ended up having a deink with Mumra and some work mates in the Rye Hotel which led me to thinking should I reserve an area for Monday.....I did by the way, so there will be a space from 7pm reserved for Rainbow drinks (thought it might help us recognise each other!) See you Monday and enjoy the sunshine, Nikster x

Hi GG, Had a great holiday. Went to a Greek wedding and then up to Lancashire/Yorkshire to see some friends. Very relaxed and lots of fun. We will definately be in town for London pride this year. Meeting up in the square would be a great idea for the parade! I'll run it pass the lovely lady indoors! Let us know when you are on earlys and then we can get the rainbow drinks going! Cheers, Nikster
  8. I went to Hebden Bridge last week and I bought (or rather my girlfriend bought) a Cath Kidston ironing board cover for ?20. Indeed proof that the world is a changing. Nikster

    gay girlies

Hello everyone, The Nikster is back! Apologies for not logging on earlier in the week but life has been just a wee bit crazy! Just wanted to throw out a date. How about Friday 8th (this Friday) for a pint and a chat? Anyone interested? Nikster x
  10. I have to say that if we are going to have a serious debate about flapjack then it has to be said that the flapjack that the WI were selling at the Dulwich fair at Goose Green were pretty fantastic and lovingly labelled with a full ingredient list (Rumour has it that they were made by Mumra's fair hand!) Hiya gang, Meeting up at the Rye hotel sounds indeed like a merry plan. Good food, beer and a mere stroll across the Rye. I'm on holiday next week but will be back the week beginning the 4th June. So lets meet for a quick half and fly the rainbow flag!! Cheers, Nikster

    gay girlies

Hiya Badger, GG and any other gay girlie I spoke to Mumra and she said there was a message on the forum about gay girlies and I thought it was my duty to join in the thread! My girlie CB and I met and fell in love in East Dulwich (we were teachers in the same school) and we moved here 3 years ago this summer. We've grown to love the Rye Hotel and now its sister pub in Gypsy Hill, the Mansion. We also like Black Cherry and I'm a huge fan of Green and Blues. I have to say though that I love East Dulwich and I love the places I hang out but I think it can be hard sometimes to find somewhere where you would love to snog your girlie publcally or give her the odd knee squeeze. Maybe us skirtlifters should unite and think of ways how we could create some social events for the lesbian community here in ED? I am sure that we could find a monthly venue somewhere on LL to hold a girlie night where we can impress our other gay friends that the ED lesbians are out and proud! Would be happy to help set up anything. Let me know your thoughts! Cheers, Nikster P.S. Anyhoohar, well done Badger and GG in coming to ED. I am sure you'll find it a great place to live :)-D
  13. Hi Sian, I work for Southwark education and my office is based on the Walworth road and the roadworks are in operation as they are currently widening the pavements all along the Walworth road. They are removing the bus lanes and they are regenertaing it as a precursor to the Elephant and Castle regeneration plan. All in all it will be much better for pedestrians and local businesses who rely on passers by but I agree the joureny time is painfully slow. I've taken to catching the 63/363/343 from Peckham Rye to avoid Walworth road altogther and the journey is much quicker. Hope that helps, Nikster
  14. Hi all, Panda boy is true with his review of the Bishop's benedict. It does taste truly fab. I recommend it with spinach and bacon with an orange juice!!!! Nikster x
  15. Hi Newsummer, I'm sure you'll find that life in East Dulwich is pretty harmonious for most people. I live here with my girlfriend and we are always impressed with how open everywhere is so I am sure that you will always find a venue on Lordship lane that suits your taste. Just to let you knnow Black Cherry was rated one of the best drinking establishments in London recently by the lesbian magazine, Diva. (Don't think I've seen many lesbians in there, but my gaydar is wellreknowned for being a little dodgy!) Welcome and enjoy!!! Nikster
