  1. dulwichmum, i'd rather die slowly which i could do by boring myself to death reading your website. ' decided to throw caution to the wind and caught the number 3 bus where I sat upstairs in the front row and experienced all of the exhilaration and thrills of a trip on a roller coaster ? what a hoot' i can't imagine anything worse than becoming you. thank god, i'm not gonna move to ed. don't bother responding. i am too busy to read any more tosh.
  2. Strawbs, I didn't say there was a problem with mummies and their children. But, I don't have a 9-5 job and do work at home or outside so it's important to me to know if there is anywhere where there's other adults about in ED during the day as just seems to be children and their mums. Obviously you've not been looking at the forum if you think this is the craziest thread! If you're out ED 12 hrs a day, how do you even know if it not overrun with the like!? Surely the no. of baby shops and classes advertised is a sign. There's more activites catering for the 0-5 age bracket than the 20-35!
  3. TillieTrotter, I was just getting to the point and asking a question about the area.
  4. Yes, KalamityKel. Totally not trying to discredit mothers and babies (or daddies although don't see many of them during the day tbh. someone gotta earn the ? I suppose!). Just wanted to know as much as poss about the people in the area before I fork out money buying somewhere!
  5. I can't reason with someone who thinks motherhood is the toughest and most important job in the world. It shows a terribile lack of respect for women who chose not to have children and those who cannot.
  6. Oh, I had no idea about that! Things are looking up. Let me know details if you have them-many thanks :0)
  7. I'm beginning to ask myself that tbh! Think it's a lovely safe area with green space and good transport links plus really like lordship lane. Maybe I could set up a child free group to rival the numerous 'mummy and baby' ones ;0)
  8. You don't need time on your hands to notice such things-10 mins is suffice enough! You cannot deny the amount of children and mothers in East Dulwich is high. There's even a group on facebook called the babies are taking over east dulwich. It's not a sterotypical view, it's a fact so get yourself to specsavers.
  9. To mattham After reading your post: 'Ultimately though, freedom is a small (temporary?) price to pay for the rewards children bring. I don't for a second think those without children lead less fulfilling lives, but having kids certainly brings an extra dimension to life. And it makes you realise, perhaps for the first time, how much you were loved as a child.' I can positively say you sound ghastly too. Not everyone had a happy childhood and freedom is very important. A
  10. I'm really happy to see all these comments and appreciate people taking time to reply :0)Great to see a good debate!
  11. Yeah, but I wanna know is there any women in Dulwich who have a career and are independently wealthy without kids. Just seems to be women with children. Anytime I go to the area it like a toys'r'us ad!
  12. So, I guess the answer to my question is no. Too right I don't have kids-I'm only 24!
  13. Hey ya I'm considering moving to the East Dulwich area but it seems the only women that live there are mothers who lounge around in coffee shops all day. Everywhere I look there's a child about and loads of ads about 'mother and baby yoga' and the like. I'm a woman in her 20's who has a career. Are there any such women in Dulwich? A.
