  1. Hi, The join between the toilet pipe and the soil pipe has a small leak. I got a plumber round who advised the join needs to be re-done which really needs a builder/bathroom fitter to do. Can anyone help? I've attached a photo that show the pipe that needs to be reworked. Thanks in advance, Phil
  2. Why are you replying to a post that I?ve asked to have deleted?
  3. Hi, Looking for a carpenter or kitchen fitter who can help with adjusting a kitchen cupboard. Basically we bought a new oven which is larger than the existing one. The existing shelf it sits on needs to be removed then a new one built about 10cm below it. Or a box/pedestal built for the new one to sit on. It?s an under counter oven. Can anyone recommend someone who could help with this? Thanks in advance! Phil
  4. Just wasn?t sure if any additional clearance was needed at the top of the oven. Seems not.
  5. Hi everyone, So our electric oven broke over the weekend. It's a built-in under the counter single oven with a gas hob built into the counter above it. We want to replace it with a built-in double oven. There's some that will fit based on the existing dimensions so that's good. Question is though... do we need to worry about the gas hob above it or do ovens generally have enough space to accommodate the hob? Anybody know?? Thanks in advance, Phil
  6. Hi, We have several doors in our house with mechanisms in varying states of repair. Basically we need to get them fixed up so that we can actually open and close the internal doors. We have a roaming toddler who we need to control! We'd like to get them sorted ASAP and there's one in particular (the bathroom) that we want to get fixed immediately. Can anyone help? I guess a good handyman who has immediate availabilty would be perfect. Thanks in advance. Phil
  7. Hi, We?re looking to redo the front of our house. Basically we want to get a bike shed so it?s a good opportunity to redo the front to make a suitable place to put it. I think we?ll need a new fence/wall, a new patio to the front door, a base for the bike shed and some slate or something to cover the remaining area. Having not done anything like this before, any advice?? I presume we can just employ a general builder who?ll design and build it? Any recommendations for a general builder? Many thanks, Phil
  8. Hi, I need to get a fence post replaced in my garden ASAP in SE23. I've been let down by a couple of people so hoping for a good recommendation. Thanks in advance! Phil
  9. I've bought a Tado smart thermostat and am looking for someone to help install it. It doesn't look too hard but I'm not confident with swapping out the existing thermostat. Any recommendations for an electrician/heating engineer? Thanks!
  10. Looking to repaint the outside of our house ASAP. For an idea of size it?s a 3 bed end of terrace house. We?re in Honor Oak Park. Can anyone recommend a good painter/decorator? Cheers!
  11. Looking for a cleaner to start ASAP. We?re in Honor Oak Park about 5 mins from the station. 3 bedroom house so would expect about 3 hours per week. References would be needed. Must be ok with a dog!
  12. Fitted a new shower pump for me yesterday at short notice. The team did a great job. Polite and Aria offered great advice before he?d even started! Highly recommended.
  13. Just to follow up, I used Dave from McHow Ltd. Highly recommended. He sorted it for a reasonable price and was a nice guy too! His thread is here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1336867,1550806
  14. Just used Dave to sort out my heating. He fitted a couple of new valves and rewired the controller. All is working perfectly now! Nice guy, reliable, did a great job. Definitely recommended. His number is going in my phone book in case of any future plumbing/heating work needed.

  16. Hi, We have a problem with our heating/hot water that's basically been diagnosed as 2 things: 1. No thermostat on the hot water tank 2. The controller has been wired in incorrectly so doesn't control the heating and hot water correctly Looking for a good heating engineer, specifically someone who specialises more in the electrical side of things more than the plumbing side of things (if that makes sense!) to confirm the diagnosis and then resolve both issues. Any recommendations in the local area? Cheers, Phil
  17. Just to follow up, we found a nice lady called Caroline who has her own company called My Paws and Purrs in Catford. She offers sitting, walking and other services at reasonable prices - so far so good!
  18. We're just about to get a new puppy and will need someone to come round to the house for an hour or so for a couple of days a week to keep him company while we're at work. I work from home a lot but have to go the office a couple of days a week. We're getting him on Sunday so will need someone from next week. It would be great if you could come round on Monday to meet him then we can discuss what we need. Thanks! Phil - 07910 910169
  19. We need to get a shed for the back garden, probably a standard wooden one. Can anyone recommend a company to supply and build it? We also need a base laid for the shed, I guess concrete...? Many thanks.
  20. Thanks. I spoke to her this morning from another recommendation. Good to get another one!
  21. Hi, Can anyone recommend a good curtain maker in the area? Looking to get some made for a bay window, including the poles too. Thanks, Phil
