  1. I followed the suggestions on the board and phoned the council who told me the query had been closed. When i pointed out it still wasnt working the chap opened a new query and we now have two lamp posts one of which works the other does not. So in short the issue is resolved. No more emailing Southwark council for me a quick call sorted it and the guy at the coubcil very helpful. Thanks for assistance.
  2. Just seen three guys walking down Crystal Palace Road after i assume coming out of the Actress Pub, one of whom was punching car wing mirrors. I was in my sitting room and heard shouting and a bang looked out to see them trying to hit mine too. Fortunately the guy punching them (tall skinny and wearing a red t-shirt and jeans) was so drunk he missed. I opened my window and shouted at them and by the time i'd put my trainers in they had gone. Like i said i assume they had just come out of the Actress pub and will be asking for the cctv tomorrow morning from them. All three were white and the other two guys were older with a large overweight guy wearing a white top). This has literally just happened 00:10 so i just thought i'd post as they probably continued down the round. If you have got a damaged wing mirror may i suggest contacting the police as in conjunction with the cctv perhap we can get these kind of people off our streets.
  3. I reported to Southwark Council 2 months ago that some of the street lights on Crystal Palace Road are not working. As per usual with Southwark Council you get the automated response and then hear nothing. I genuinely wonder where our council tax goes as I do not see it being spent on anything that actually improves the environment for its residents. The primary reason I believe that it is important that the street lighting is working is because there have been a spate of criminal incidents in and around East Dulwich. Surely common sense would be to make sure the streets are safe from a lighting perspective seeing as we have no police officers on the streets anymore. I myself have been assaulted recently and the Police did basically nothing. They noted that the lighting was poor and that any description I gave would be difficult to substantiate in court due to the lighting. Surely we can expect better and if needs be I'd change the bulb myself but would probably be prosecuted for criminal damage!
  4. The last three days have been horrendous?.literally no interval between planes! Surely the cretins that organise the flight paths can vary them so that we have some peace!!!!!!! In response to my letter to Helen Hayes and the Transport office I have been informed that there has been no material increase in the number of flights over East Dulwich! I would really like to see this data because from first hand experience that's absolutely crap!
  5. Utter joke! I tend to cycle into work now but had to get the train on Tuesday morning and guess what.....07:50 Cancelled! The sooner they lose their franchise the better...
  6. The planes start at 04:30 and continue throughout the morning with less than a minute gap which when you take into account the noise from their approach and departure over East Dulwich means you have around 20 seconds of peace and quiet. I appreciate that living in London will be noisy and am not particularly sensitive to this. However, the aircraft noise is beyond the normal and has deteriorated in recent times and is beyond what I believe is acceptable. If you download any number of apps including Flightradar24 (free) you can see that East Dulwich gets planes converging from both the Greenwich direction and up from Croydon. I appreciate that planes are a necessary but surely it would be better to have them take different routes as opposed to the same route from 4:30 until late evening like a conveyor belt. I have emailed Helen Hayes MP who has written to the Department of Transport. I am still awaiting their response despite chasing. If you are also concerned about the noise please do the same and raise the issue with our MP.
