a compromise.... this is so far from a compromise it's untrue..

  2. I don't use it as a place to quietly remember my loved ones, but I am sure that if I did, then I would much sooner have visited the overgrown tree part of the cemetery than the sterile and clinical designs being put forward by the council, and as a local resident (I can see the former woods from my bedroom window) it deeply saddens me to see what devastation has already taken place. It looks terrible, as it is, and terrible as it is planned.

Burn people. Can scatter the ashes in the woods then. No rental, and can just keep piling them up.

These all look like great positions for bike Hangars.

  5. If you are not a cyclist would you want one of these parked right outside your front door.

Will they be sited away from residential front doors?

I would not like one right outside my house.

    ----

In answer to your question (1) yes I'm a cyclist (2) no I certainly wouldn't want to look out of my window onto that.

    ----

Except the having it in front of your house doesn't guarantee you access to it. Personally, I wouldn't want one directly in front of my house. I'm glad there are people who do though as hopefully the council will take individual preference into consideration when selecting the precise location.

    ----

Just a handful of the examples of NIMBYism on this thread.

NIFOMH doesn't quite roll of the tongue as well.

NIMBY's - this forum is full of them.

Stick one right in front of my front door. I'd be happy to take it (car owner - and not currently a cyclist).

I see people that like having a good moan about anything new. I understand the permitted room size comment - I live with an architect. It means the commodity of our generation is space, not possessions. Therefore making a hangar on a road, where many users do not even own cars a fantastic idea, that I can't understand why any progressive thinker cannot get behind.

  9. anything that would encourage people to ditch cars in zone 2 and replace with bikes has to be a good thing.

  10. I actually live on Melbourne Grove but I park in saino's each morning before my daily commute from ED station to London Bridge. However on Tuesday nights I find it can take a terrible amount of time to get out of the car park thanks to some jerk wheeling his vibraphone across the crossing having been ejected from the terraces of champion hill for making too much of a din. Something needs to be done.
