We will be learning to DJ and sampling music and sounds, playing fun audio games and conducting our very own (and very loud) punk sound bath! Hi Audrey, This might be a little too late, but we run radio/DJ parties for children where the kids actually DJ themselves. Would this be something your daughter might be interested in? We give a crash course for whoever wants to get behind the decks and the kids can rotate/we take over if they would prefer to dance. We also play games such as 'sounds like', Guess who, dance competitions etc. Our set up is a little different to typical DJs but our main emphasis is giving the children ownership of the event! Hi Mary, We don't run adult DJ classes I'm afraid, but we do podcast training (1:1 or groups) as well as radio parties for both kids and adults - this is more talk radio than music radio though. All the best, Zoe

We run all sorts of weird and wonderful audio, radio and podcast events, workshops and courses for children and young people - including a couple this Easter at Space @ 61 so do check these out! We also host radio birthday parties and we are offering a HEFTY discount on our radio parties - all we would ask is that we could have permission from all parents for us to be able to film the whole event to share a short video on our social media sites. What's involved in a radio party? - Three hours (food break included) of talk radio madness for up to 9 party people - although this will be reduced to 6 kids at discounted price. - Plan, produce and broadcast LIVE a special birthday talk radio show, with pre-recorded audio content to blast off during the live show. - We'll train you up on the equipment, jingles and sounds before going LIVE! - We will master the live broadcast and post it online to be heard once again. - You will also receive a high quality digital recording file of the day's show. - We bring all equipment including our pop-up radio studio and headphones to the party house. All parents are invited to listen to the live broadcast for the final 30mins of the party tuning in to our radio to hear the fab work produced! Our standard party usually costs ?300 but we would like to offer the party for ?200 provided we can film all the participants throughout and occasionally ask the children a question or two. Hello, We are based in East dulwich and looking for young voices to host a podcast this summer for Foyles bookshop. Foyles have asked us (WordPlay: Audio, Podcast & Radio Projects for Children) http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/ to create a second podcast series this year based on their summer Literary Festival for children & young adults - The Story Box Festival. We created three podcast episodes last year with lots of friendly and confident children from East Dulwich last year and this year we are looking for more children to host the podcast! Here are the three previous episodes: http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/foyles-the-storybox-podcast/ We are looking for four children aged 9-16 to help us out to host the podcast - there will be several fantastic events throughout the summer reading festival and we would like our young hosts, presenters and reporters to interview authors, have discussions based on the events, read the script (and make any changes) for the podcast and present the festival news! Confident and fluent readers are a must! If you would like your child/ren to take part, please do email us on [email protected] or send me a PM on here. We have provisionally booked in dates for the podcast recording to take place on the shop floor of Foyles Charing Cross Road Branch - 2 children per date would be awesome: Saturday 29th July 4.30pm - ages 9+ OR Saturday 12th August 10am - ideally the two children recording on this date are aged 13+ as the events covered will be with Young Adult Authors. The recording can take up to 2 hours (or longer depending on content we record)! If your child would like to be involved but unable to make these dates, send us an email and once the programme of events is confirmed we can let you know which events we will be attending with our microphones and perhaps they would like to interview the author/illustrator etc - please note that most events are charged).
