Since the beginning of lockdown, One Tree Hill Choir have been singing together from our homes. Zoom choir makes it possible for us all to join in wherever we are and with no need for a babysitter! We?ve sung Scottish ballads, Irish folk songs, opera and songs from musicals. We even made two recordings https://www.onetreehillchoir.co.uk/concerts. Each rehearsal offers good value with a high standard of instruction and lots of interaction and encouragement from Ben, our musical director. It's been a lot of fun. Our new term starts tonight, Tuesday 8th September and will run up to Tuesday 8th December (with a half term break 20th and 27th October). We?ve sung an eclectic mix of brilliant music - from the Beatles to West Side Story, to an arrangement by a choir member of Robert Burns' famous poem, Ae Fond Kiss. We've tackled Italian opera (Va Pensiero, sung out of south London windows at full volume) and blues, folk and rock music. It's been a lot of fun. Welcome to the Spring term! Term dates Choir starts again next Tuesday 14th January until Tuesday 1st April (Half term is 17th-21st February). Rehearsals on 14th and 21st January will be held at The Ivy House Pub, Stuart Road, SE15, starting at 7.30pm (This is while the pantomime is on at St Augustine's) New members Are always welcome! This is a few years old, but current equivalent retails at around ?300. Collection from SE22 or I could deliver for a small fee. Avoid the hassle of going to Ikea and collect this one from SE22!
