  1. I was in New York a few years ago, post 9/11 and we had the misfortune of listening to a former Navy Seal rant about the French and how the US were going to watch them fry if ever France was victim of a 9/11 type attack. The EU has an alliance that we are not very comfortable being part of - our alligience lies elsewhere although we are beginning to hedge our bets with our european friends.
  2. Oh MP. the US is our big brother, live with it.

Tough decisions have to be made and there are many casualties, but the long term security of the country is likely to be proven to be the motivating factor behind the Iraq decision and it will be interesting to see the full text of UK/US discussions when the secrecy is finally lifted in how many years time. Too many liberal Neville Chamberlains in ED, would sell the country's relationship with the US down the river and with it the long term security of the country.
  4. This team obviously had no problem scoring goals.

  11. I often wonder if people who are compulsive runners / fitness fanatics are going to be sooooo... fit that they are going to live long beyond the point at which they continue to enjoy life. I'm incredibly jealous of runners really, but I do think there may be a downside to this level of fitness. There must be an optimum age to die.

John Terry's affair affected another squad member and he lost the captaincy but not his place in the team. What did you think should have happened to Rooney?

That's my experience of Brick Lane too. Its been a few years since I went there, but from memory what's available in ED now is better.

No law against that of course, but a bit unusual, in fact I've never come across it before. Wasn't meant to be an insult. Maybe I'm just a bit straight laced.
  17. How many of you girls go to the barbers?

  23. I just say...."that's the ice cream van - but you aren't having any, so don't bother asking". My Dad used to say that to me, so I think its a top tip.
