  1. You were right first time.
  2. He will be punished. Don't worry David he won't be around for the England game. But we will win anyway.:)

Im beginning to like this bet.
  4. Denman falls at odds of 6-1 on. Their will be some light wallets leaving newbury today. kauto will surely now be got favourite for gold cup. Ruby Walsh is king for me.
  5. not snuffing them out so good so far Matt. They have a game on their hands.
  6. obviously tony mowbray thought they were surplus to requirements. So he bought in some dross instead. Now he has cocked up again against aberdeen. 4-2 up and decides to take keane off. Draws 4-4. He reminds me of Rafa more and more every day.
  7. Ireland's Grand Slam tries. Brilliant finishing by O'Driscoll.
  8. But we have the best centre in the world. And you always have a chance with O'Driscoll in your team. Even in Paris.

They have drated in Thierry Henry for the big game in Paris today. He has shown exemplary handling skills and makes his debut on the wing.
  10. This try was the most pain I had ever experienced watching rugby. This try was all that prevented Ireland winning a grand slam in 2007. Thankfully last years grand slam put that pain to bed but it hurt like hell at the time. As a result Vincent Clerc, the scourge of the Irish, is drafted into my fantasy team. He always does the business against Ireland.

  15. I won. I have put it all on Arsenal to win the premiership, so celebrations are on hold.
  16. I think that is a very noble statement Brendan. I would suggest that De Klerk was the person making the big step. The ANC, Mandela and the world in general may have made the De Klerk step a seamingly unavoidable one, but many a leader would have held out for another decade or more before reconciling. Mandela led the movement out of oppression and the ANC and its terrorist/military wing attracted the world's attention to the shortcomings in south africa. Black Africa made a very big sacrifice. But also at the end of the day, the guy in control needs to make a big concession and risk losing his political future, De Klerk did this. In northern ireland terms DeKlerk would be David Trimble - who I admire trmendously - he took the big step in northern ireland of speaking to terrorists - he was the first to do so and a lot of the current reconciliation in NI has to do with him. John Hume put Trimble and Adams together to sort out their differences. All three are to be admired.
  17. Biographical details of Nelson Mandela (Its from the ANC website btw so no guarantee of its objectivity but interesting none the less)

  19. dont know much about him other than he is a big british talent slipped away.

So perhaps an opportunity for > someone to make a name for himself? I think Cole has been outstanding recently - that goal from the John Terry pass a few weeks ago will be my vote as goal of the season. He also played a key role in demolishing arsenal at Emirates. I suspect he will be a key player for Capello and as usual (english fingers crossed) the 3 months is conservative and he will be fit before then.

Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ...maybe we could make it this week's Friday Night > Dad's club theme Oooh no - I'm far too excited to wait until Friday frivolities to discuss this. Anyway - does not Mrs Q expect to be taken out Friday night? I don't want to set a precednt but I have a table booked for 3 for tomoz (baby incl.).
  22. It seems Simon - that you comment that the ANC / Nelson Mandela were only criminal because the SA govt categorised them as criminal - is incorrect - their military wing meant business, in violent term.
  23. For Simon The organization became the ANC in 1923 and formed a military wing, the Umkhonto we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation) in 1961. ANC military wing Don't get me wrong - I'm learning here - I want to know why Mandela is revered by some and was referred to as a former terrorist.
  24. Ah - someone is awake - good. So terrorism is justified for Mandela? That seems to be the implication. Do you respect him despite what he and his ANC did? I'm sure you are correct about Martin McGuinness - but can I rephrase it - Martin McGuinness had a meaningless vote and no rights. I don't really want to talk about McGuinness until later - but i'm interested in why we respect Mandela as much as we do.
  25. He looks like a man sitting in the drawing room not the lounge.
