  1. That was on the corner of Whateley and Landcroft - opposite what is now Harris primary school/the police station as was.
  2. It still exists. I have 2 friends who are members and both have recommended it: https://jagssportsclub.co.uk/
  3. Mine thankfully turned up sometime today, just in the nick of time. Hope anyone still waiting has similar good fortune.
  4. Can I just ask, has anyone received their postal vote yet? Mine has not turned up and I am going away tomorrow. Just wondering if the delay is Southwark's or (yet again) it's got caught up in ED's mail delivery shambles?
  5. Leon is super-helpful and very easy to deal with. Called him first thing on Saturday morning and he was here within a few hours. Quickly identified the problem, sorted it, didn’t charge me for a part either. I really recommend him.
  6. I really like Cafe G on Peckham Rye, whose menu says they do gluten free bread. Admittedly, I've never tried it , and they don't exactly do eggs benedict, but I can certainly vouch for the scrambled eggs! Also, delicious, proper fresh orange juice.
  7. No, he was a tenant
  8. No, he moved out before lockdown when the house was sold to a developer. No idea where he went.
  9. Construction noise is only allowed between 8am and 6pm (unless they have an out of hours licence). You should definitely call the Southwark noise team: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/noise-and-antisocial-behaviour
  10. A word of warning: I have just been given a parking ticket here, having nipped in to M&S for no more than 15 mins. The loading bay sign still says '1 hour'. I caught up with the traffic warden and he told me that they now 'observe' the vehicle for 2 mins and if you don't reappear in that time you will be given a ticket. I objected and he said, "it would be OK if you were a van, but not a car." Which will be the basis of my appeal - how do you know I'm not using my car as a van? You can't be making arbitrary decisions. First time I have been caught out here. And before the anti-car lobby jump on me, I do know that loading bays are meant for loading. This is just an fyi, because having lived here since 1998, that is the first time I have been given a ticket for parking there. Sigh.
  11. Happening without a democratic mandate. And your characterisation of anyone who opposes the CPZ as 'right wing, car loving, climate deniers' does your argument no credit. But I guess, given that you clearly don't give a monkey's what the majority think, why not employ a sweeping generalisation?
  12. As someone who opposes the CPZ, I was genuinely interested to see how popular this petition was. Not that popular, as it turns out - only two people have signed it (and I guess you're one of those, megalaki?). I hope this gives all those who want us saddled with this highly questionable proposal some pause for thought.
  13. You do realise that if a CPZ is imposed borough wide, it also has cost implications for you, car owner or not? Every time someone comes to visit you - a friend/relative, workman, health visitor, anyone - you are going to have to pay for an hourly/few hours/one day visitor's permit for them to park outside your house?
  14. School street closure. It's explained on this thread:
  15. No, not had mine
