This busy, caring role will be rewarding, challenging and never dull. We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work 32 hours per week on a 3-week rolling rota. ? To assist the Kitchen Manager in the smooth running of the department and to ensure the residents nutrition needs are met. ? Assist the cook in preparing of drinks and snacks as requested by the residents or visitors ? To Ensure teatime meals are prepared and served accordingly with the 4 weeks set menu ? Understand and comply with all The Elm?s policies and procedures at all times ? Ensure an acceptable level of cleanliness in the kitchen, storeroom, dining room and the staff room ? Ensure the waste material is disposed of in a hygienic manner ? Ensure all food used is used within the prescribed period of time with particular attention paid to perishable goods Tea Cook to create tea time drinks and light meals in the afternoon ? You?ll need to build relationships and support our Residents to maintain their dignity and individuality through activities and one to one time. You will be required to plan and implement activities appropriate to Residents? needs and requests. Aspects of this role will include developing, creative fundraising ideas and determining how to use these funds appropriately to benefit the lives of the residents?. You will need to be caring, energetic and organised in order to fulfil this role fully. The Elms is looking for a Handy Person to work 20hrs per week over 5 days. we are looking for but not limited to.. Person specification: Essential skills: Must be able to use steps and ladders in a safe way. Experience with working in a similar environment Experience of carrying out maintenance work whilst residents/people are in the area An understanding and a common sense approach to health & safety at work legislation regarding repairs and maintenance to property and equipment Ability to show practical application of his/her capability to undertake minor repairs and use appropriate tools for the job Experience of carrying out maintenance work/repairs/painting/basic electrical work and decorating in a residential home would be an advantage but not essential Personal skills Team player Good communication skills. if you feel you have the right credentials please contact Karen Pitter at [email protected] for an application pack.

The Elms, a 26 bed residential home in East Dulwich, requires the following post, who will be in sympathy with the ethos of The Elms. We are looking for: Weekend Laundry Assistant ? 8 hours per week (over two days on a 3-week rolling rota. 8am-12pm to work alongside the full time laundry Assistant on a 3-week rolling rota. Experience of working in a similar environment would be desirable but not essential. An organised team player with good communication skills, honest and reliable with option for overtime and holiday cover.
