I have a few 50s/60s lamps that need rewiring, but a shop has charged me ?65 for just one of the lamps. This seems absolutely extortionate to me, and I feel thoroughly ripped off. Can an electrician - or someone who has had a lamp professionally rewired recently - give me an idea if this is a standard price for the job, including parts & labour, & vat? Or recommend an electrical shop anywhere in London that does rewiring at a reasonable price? I was hoping to get the other lamps rewired, but I can't afford that kind of money! thanks for your help.
