  1. We have just finished a build with PlusRooms and were thoroughly impressed with the entire service. We did a side return on the kitchen, and this being our first build, we wanted to be sure we made the right choice when it came to picking the builders. From the first appointment to the feedback meeting at the end of the build, every representative we have met has been professional and helpful and just generally nice to deal with. Communication has been excellent - the PlusRooms project manager was onsite several times a week and always on email or the phone if we had questions - he did a great job at keeping us updated on all aspects of the build. PlusRooms look after the whole build for you - this includes dealing with the architects drawings, the planning permission application, party wall agreements, build-over agreements, building regs etc. We both work long hours and to do this ourselves would have been tricky and exhausting - we were kept updated at all stages via email and phone and we met with the architect and spoke to PlusRooms at lengtha about any questions we had (which for first timers, were quite a lot!). The costs schedule that we were given for the build the day after the first meeting didn't change, other than for changes that we made as we went along for optional extras e.g. bigger skylights. The building team were great - they start early and work hard - often 6 days a week - and were a pleasure to have in the house. They cleaned up and were considerate of us living in the house during the build. We only had one issue crop up as part of the build and it was one that we had been warned about from the very start - out old kitchen floor was wooden and rotten and needed to be replaced as part of the build. This meant laying a whole new concrete floor - this was done quickly by the build team at a very competitive price. Even with this, the team still worked to the timetbale set out at the start of the process - we were very impressed. We also used the plumbers, electricians and finishing team provided by PlusRooms - again all worked towards fixed costs that were discussed up front, all were friendly and worked very hard. The plumbers and electricans are required throughout the build and the communication between them and the building and finishing team meant that there weren't any delays waiting for one to turn up - it was all seamless. Overall a very positive experience with all the people we dealt with at PlusRooms and the various contractors who worked on the build. The end result is fantastic.
  2. Gary, Ray and the rest of the team have just carried out an extensive redecoration in our house over the last two months - we are pleased with the results. We have had living room, dining room, hallway and three bedrooms redecorated and new shelving and cabinets put in in the living room. Being an old Victorian house the walls weren't the easiest to work with at time, but they persevered and they look great now. Ray was there more or less full time for two months and was lovely to have around - pretty sure my other half missed him when he left! It did take slightly longer than anticipated but we are pleased with the results. thanks guys.
  3. Rob has just finished work on our house - repointing the bricks, cleaning the bricks and repainting and fixing the masonry and window ledges. Our house looks like a new house! Absolutely great job. Reasonable quote for the highest quality of work. Having researched various methods of repointing, Rob was one of the few who used lime mortar and knew his stuff. Had confidence that the job would get done well from Day 1 and Rob didn't disappoint. Great to have around, friendly and courteous and exceptionally hard working. Can't recommend him enough. Thanks again Rob. Robert Payne, Stone Rejuvenation, 0757 708 9393 or [www.stonerejuvenation.co.uk].
  4. We had Paul over recently to do a full test of all electrics, fit some new plug backs and install some new lights. He was friendly and happy to answer all my questions and explain the results of the electricial testing in ordinary language to me! He did a great job getting a lot of work done quickly and cleaned up after himself. Will be getting him back to come and fix some of the faults we found and fit a new fuse box. Competitive in pricing too. Thanks Paul.
  5. We have had lee over a couple of times now to put radiators back on after some damp work and also to take a look at a leaky pipe and crack under the bath. Great work both times, Lee is friendly and nice to have around and good at communicating and keeping in touch to check up on the work. Thanks Lee.
  6. I have just completed four refresher lessons with nick and would highly recommend him. I hadn't driven in over ten years and needed to get my confidence back. Nick was very positive and helpful and by lesson four I was on the motorway and feeling comfortable behind the wheel again. Great experience, thanks nick.
  7. Craig at Browns has recently been helping us with some slugs in our kitchen. Whilst it's not pleasant, Craig was great at helping with the issue and making me feel calm about the issue. He helpfully sealed up lots of gaps behind the cupboards in our kitchen and around the kitchen. We also paid the slightly bigger fee for Craig to come back if we had any further issues - we only saw a couple more slugs and he has been back to help again. Easy to communicate with and very responsive. Would recommend for any pest issues.
