  1. Does anyone know what’s happening with the playground in St. Francis park? I just walked past and it’s all been dismantled and bulldozed. Is there a new one going in its place? Both of my daughters are devastated as they loved the playground and we used to go there all the time as it is so conveniently close to Sainsbury’s!
  2. I have a question for the owners of DHFC. I can see that you are in a difficult situation for the club but I oppose the proposal as I think greendale is a much loved green space and whatever way you look at it having a stadium in the middle of it is going to take away from its wildness. Aside from that though, my main concern is the noise and light pollution. We own one of the flats that looks onto greendale and no one has consulted with us on the proposal. When the game was televised for the FA cup the lights were shining directly into our living room and it was impossible to relax or get our one year old daughter to sleep. I find the noise of the games loud but it?s going to be so much worse now that they?ll essentially be happening in our back garden. There are hundreds of occupants in the flats on cleve hall estate and lots of us have balconies or back gardens that back directly onto greendale. What do you propose to do about the light and noise pollution? What do you propose to do for those of us who own flats and therefore will have a reduction in property value because of this?
  3. The deadlines on this seem to be all over the place, in various places they have been mentioned as the 12th, 14th and 16th March. It doesn't help that the links in the email that Southwark Council sent out to past commenters on the application don't work! Anyway, I just wanted to put the link here if anyone has been having a hard time finding the application and if you'd like to comment as time appears to be running out! https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=ZZZV0JKBWR961 You can read more about it here: http://www.friendsofdkhwood.org/2020/03/last-chance-to-comment-on-green-dale-planning-application/
  4. I?m looking for any recommendations for a childminder or nursery near Denmark Hill or East Dulwich stations. Any childminders and I?d also be keen to know if anyone has experience with the mother goose nursery on Green Dale. Thank you! Lucy
  5. Just a reminder! All info on how to do so is here: http://www.friendsofdkhwood.org/2019/08/planning-application-for-green-dale-19-ap-1867-act-now/ Save our green space!
  6. Has anyone else come across people dirt biking on the green space at greendale playing fields? I can hear them from my flat and it seems like more and more of a frequent occurrence these days. I have reported it to the police as antisocial behaviour multiple times but it doesn?t seem to be solving the problem. I find it thoroughly annoying as it?s so loud and always seems to happen when we?re home on the weekends. I?m most concerned about the disturbance to the wildlife and plants in the green space. Not to mention mother goose nursery is right there and I can?t imagine it?s very safe to have dirt bikes riding about with so many children nearby.
  7. I was up at 5am this morning and looked out our window to see a fix running along Wanley road with what I thought might have been a cat in its mouth...it was huge with a long tail but I couldn?t see well enough to really confirm. Maybe it was another fox and perhaps they had been fighting or something? There are a huge amount of them that live in the green space.
